One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of prolems
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

Tv won't turn on. replaced bad caps and after some testing it turned out that the power supply board wasn't giving the supposed voltages.

This problem is not easily to be solved.Tries to changes all the capacitors components even if u think is good around the bad capacitors surrounding area. After that,if u still have the same problems. This problem could be any high voltage components parts like transformers to ICS power regulator.Trying to fix this power supply board probably beyond your ability and u must also have the tv power supply board original schematic and electron scope too . .To measure those power transformers and ics power regulator output.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,EBay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement that is ur best bet.

Board will not start

Just after that there was NO correct answer to fix this problem causes the problem not solved even if it is marked as solved. Me too I have this problem, I was fix it by setting jumpers to default 60 Hz AC power because I won`t have 50Hz AC power or some AC power converter before PSU, I mean this is voltage errors, it`s need to be set to default +5V(60Hz) PSU not +5VSB(50Hz) PSU, (Step1) like might be set to USBPW12 to pin 3 both USB to right side inserted jumper it`s in left side of, near ATX 12v advanced CPU power cable connection socket. Next (step 2) is set up front USB jumpers to +5V or system won`t start up, it`s on motherboard about between PCI1 and PCI2 on right side it must be set up to USBPW56 and don`t set it to USBPW78(5+VBS) because system won`t start up, the jumper must be set to right side I mean it`s last jumpers to right side need to be set up, because it`s +5V(60Hz) PSU supply. The USB wake-up feature requires a power supply that can provide at least 500mA on the +5VSB lead when these jumpers are set to +5VSB otherwise the system won`t power up. Next step if it still not starts up its BIOS fault, it`s easy to repair, just (Step3) turn off PC remove BIOS battery (it`s down to IDE cables), start it up wait a bit, then turn it off and turn it again on wait a bit again, turn it off place BIOS battery in to socket to be able save BIOS settings i mean battery is need to save them otherwise settings won`t be saved and Chassis will be broken. (Step 4) Turn PC on press del key after BIOS is load in open Power\Hardware monitoring\Chassis Intruder set to Disable, save settings exit. (Step5) If BIOS (PC won`t power up) it`s Chassis1 jumper fault, it`s need set to Default (Chassis signal, and GND(Ground)), it`s between SATA 2 and SATA1(Serial ATA connectors 7-pin it`s near and down to BIOS battery, the jumpers might be set to right side, after it`s completed repeat Step3 and Step4. CMOS is BIOS battery. If that all doesn't works Take BIOS clearing jumper in it`s clear state, near BIOS chip. Turn on PC with CMOS clear jumper turned on its work. Take beck jumper in its default state after that take bios chip out and CMOS battery out both them an two times restart PC after insert all beck if PC will be working all keyboard flashes once, after its in AC power.

I have RED verticle lines all the way across the screen fro top to bottom 10 minutes after I turn my Panasonic PT-52LCX65 TV on. Is there a solution?

Hello
Check and replace the main filter capacitor in the power supply section. Replace all of them in the secondary section of the power supply too. The problem is due to insufficant smoothing and regulatio fo the power supply section. If main smoothing capacitor gets value deveoped, it won't supply enough voltage to the switching section, and switching section also will go inefficient. Replace all of them. It won't cost not much. OK.

The power on my hp pavilion hl919 won't turn on.

Hi.
I see this problem with Hp and compaq computers from time to time, and I have a possible solution for you.

The first thing you need to do is unplug the power cord and ethernet cable , if you have one attached.
This stops any stray power from coming into the pc, and is crucial to getting it going again if this works.

Now, after disconnected from that, press and hold the power button in for at LEAST 45 seconds.
This causes the capacitors to dissapate their static charge, as essentially resets the motherboard to a " ready" state.

If you don't hold the button down for that long, the capacitors may not be all the way discharged.

Now after you have held the button in for 45 seconds, you can then stop pushing on it.
Next, replace the power cord, and try to see if it will power up.
If it does, then you can then reconnect your ethernet cable.
If not, then you have most likely suffered a power supply failure.
Now, although the power supply is something that a consumer "can" replace, I really don't recommend it, because if you get even one plug the wrong way, or connected to the wrong plug, then it could burn out your motherboard, and turn your pc into a nice boat anchor!

If you have to get a new power supply, I would take the computer to a certified repair vendor, like Fry's, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Staple's, or CompUSA.
They all have technicians trained in pc component replacement, and on top of that, the repairs almost always come with a repair warranty.

I hope the first thing works for you though, it will save you money, and if it works, will have you up and running in just a couple of minutes.

Good luck to you, and have a good day.
