Question about CyberPower 525SL (CPS525SL) UPS System
During a thunderstorm my backup started beeping and blinking and my monitor and printer kept going off and on. I was able to shut everything down and it is all working properly, however, my backup continues to act up. I unplugged it and plugged it back on and when I power it up the power on light blinks on and off and it beeps. Is it useless at this point? Do I need a new one or is there some way to fix this. I tried the little button on the side which I thought might be a reset button but it does nothing. Please advise.
The erratic behavior and beeping could indicate that the Gel battery inside your UPS needs to be replaced, and is usually less expensive to replace than the entire UPS. You can remove the battery and contact a local or online source for a replacement. I replace mine through a local automotive battery supplier, and it' never cost me more than $20.00.
