How can I find the square root of 39 on my ti-30xa? Also I would like to know how to find the cube of 9482... Help

Square root of 39: Press 3 9 [square-root] =
[square-root] is the key just to the left of the divide key.

Cube root of 9482: Press 9 4 8 2 2nd [cube-root] =
[cube-root] is the shifted function of the 0 key.

I need the EXACT solution for -7 + square root of 61 divided by 2. I have a Ti-30XA calculator and I don't know how to do this.

It is unclear whether your equation is:

a: ((SQRT61) - 7) / 2
or
b: ((SQRT61) / 2) - 7

For a:
Type 61 SQRT.
Subtract 7.
Equals.
Divide by 2.
Equals. (Should be 0.4051248...)

For b:
Type 61 then SQRT.
Then divide by 2.
Equals.
Then subtract 7.
Equals. (Should be -3.094875...)

Good luck.

How do I do a factorial problem on a TI-30XA? for example 52!/5!

Two easy ways.

  1. You can use the factorial function, which is the shifted function of the 3 key. Calculate 52! and divide it by 5!.
  2. You can use the nPr function, which the is the shifted function of the 9 key. 52!/5! is 52 nPr 47 (47 is 52-5).

Cosecant

Hello,
The cosecant function is defined by
cosec(x) = 1/sin(x)

1[/] [sin] x.
Do not confuse this function with the arcsine function which is accessed by [2nd][sin to the -1]. When you use trigonometric functions make sure that the angle unit (Rad, dgree, grad) is the one you want.

Hope it helps.
