Question about MSI Wind U100-423ES Notebook

1 Answer

When Windows XP tries to load, I get the following message: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this." My options are: Start in safe mode. Safe mode with networking. Safe mode with command prompt. Last known good configuration setting (most recent setting that worked). Start Windows normally

Indicates that the hard drive is starting to fail
save everything to an external hard drive
have the system tested by an computer repair shop and if faulty install a solid state hard drive that has no spinning disc
also up grade to win 7 operating system as win xp is no longer supported by Microsoft and many other products are not compatible with win xp

Try hitting F10 to do a system repair, it should hopefully repair your startup problems. If successful, update your Anti-Virus software and do a complete systems check.

If you added any exta hardware means kindly remove it and boot the computer
Then you try boot by selecting the option of Boot using last known good configuration.
If the boot is successful then you can boot later booting without any problem.

If boot is not successful and this problem is happened after installing any software or driver software means boot in safe mode by pressing f8 key and uninstall it

HELP! Laptop will not boot up!

Try an XP repair:
Boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Sony vaio not loading windos

Try booting XP with the installation CD & use the recovery console to boot the laptop.

From the Setup CD-ROM

Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password. At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.

To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit.
