Try to reset it by using these instructions exactly ..cause I think it has to be counter reset and may have other errors..
1. Step 1

Shut down the Canon Pixma IP2000. After it has shut down, depart it off for some minutes.(unplug )

2. Step 2

Press "Resume" and "Power" button together. When printer initiates to restart, release "Resume" button but keep on pressing "Power."

3. Step 3

Pushes in "Resume" button two times, and then allow go of both buttons. Directly, a green light flashes for some time.

4. Step 4

Push "Resume" button four times after green flashing has completed.

5. Step 5

Press "Power" button once more until printer shuts down. After some time press
power button once more to restart device. Now Canon Pixma IP2000 work correctly.

Hi,

  1. Power off the printer
  2. Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.
  3. Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps
  4. Release the Power Button
This will reset the printer and should resolve incorrect cartridge detection problems
Note : error 9000 can also be due to faulty hardware so if this doesn't work, you can call canon and if your printer is in warranty they will fix it for you.
Good Luck!

Normally you will need to let the printer know that you have preformed any maintenance on it by clearing the error count after such an error occurs and is fixed it is normally listed under general or service options on the printer menu but you may need to look through the users manual

hope this helps

Canon mp240 error code 5 does not clear with the holding down stop/resent, starting and stopping on button as explained in earlier advice

E 4 or E5 for PIXMA is ink cartridge not recognised by printer. Try to take out ink cartridge (one by one) and check the brass connectors (at cartridge and the printer ink holder). If nothing suspicious, put cartridge back gently in and close lock firmly. Normally have to do this 2 - 3 times. If problem still occurs a simple trick put a piece of paper (with a bit of thickness) before locking the ink holder. Detail tutorials available here. Problem is due to the cartridge and ink holder connectors not aligning properly between one another.

I need to know how to reset my printer, I 've cleaned the pads, but nothing... Thank you in advance...

Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments.
Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power."
Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times.
Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished.
Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.

Pixma MP150 Will not print. Error 2 says paper out.Won't print no matter how much paper is put in Recently replaced color cartridge. Have reset cartridge, shut printer down and restarted. Nothing works

Are you using a factory new Canon cartridge or a third party cartridge or even worse a refilled cartridge.

80% of the time, that's the failure.
