Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Trying to load my movies into Windows Movie Maker but it doesn't recognize the .MOD for which my movies are backup in...how do you change the setting to allow Windows Movie Maker to see them?- Guest

please go to the following website to get the software which in turn converts your .mod files to .wma(windows media player) file. and then your movie maker will be able to recognize those files.

JVC Everio Camcorder-cannot make movie file

I use Sony Vegas 8 Movie Studio...a great piece of software...and use the Storm codec pack to view .mod files that the JVC puts out:

scroll down to download mirror for STORM Codecs, not AVS.

Good luck.

Can't upload videos to computer

Hi, I am not sure why cameras dont come w/ firewire cord. May be its expensive..?
Neways, You need to use the 4 pin firewire to 4 pin firewire cable to connect PC to the camcorder.  http://www.bluejprojects.com/blog/articls/video-2-pc-gs120/firewire-ends.jpg

This camcorder model has the firewire port. Please check the manual carefully to find its location.
You need to switch on the camera. Keep it in play/ edit mode. Open movie maker. Its should detect the camera now. If not, try installing the software which came with the camcorder. It might have any drivers.

I have jvc GR d720 dv camcorder but unable to connect .. driver required ... i have firewire send me in khairnar.abhijeet@gmail.com

No driver required for Windows XP. I simply plugged in the camera via FireWire. Windows automatically recognizes it as a digital video device. Then I started up Windows Movie Maker and followed the wizard to capture the movie from my digital video device. It was really easy.

My computer no longer recognizes my JVC GR-D70U mini DV cam when I plug it into a usb port.

Hi, I am not sure. But I believe the camcorder has to be on when you connect to the computer. and I assume you use firewire for this particular camcorder.
I too once had this problem when I used Windows Vista. If you too use Vista, try it with Windows XP.

cheers,

Why wont windows movie maker recognize my Jvc camera?

You may not have the drivers installed for the camcorder.
But then again you may not need any and it is something else.
Do you have USB 2.0 support on your PC.
Also if it is not a driver issue can you tell me what version of windows you are running please?
