Question about Cameras

When I turn on my BRAND NEW Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT2 camera, I get the message "This card is not formatted with this camera and not suitable for movie recording" It is a 4Gb card, supplied with the camera. How do I format it or do I need to replace it? or ???? Thank you in anticipation

Go to camera Menu and look for memory card settings/ format option, select format and press OK to format memory card.

Just format it using your camera. There is an option there, usually in the settings/memory card tool where you can format your memorycard. Don't format it using your computer.

Sounds like the card is from another camera or was formatted on a computer. If there are pics on it you want to save, download them using a card reader if necessary. Then, format the card in your camera.

If this is a new card, it needs to be formatted in the camera first. If it has pics on it, you need to download them first using a card reader if necessary.

Try formatting the new card in the camera. Also, download any pics from the old card using a card reader and then, format it in the camera.

Memory card likely has temporary(needs formatting) or permanent problems(needs replacing, common for off branded china junk).

First format the mem card on your camera by pressing center Menu button then scrolling down to the end of the menu to Format. If this does not work, and you have bought a Name Brand SD card; Sandisk/Kingston/Patriot etc, return it to place of purchase with receipt, or creditcard use to purchase it, and they will replace it.
