Hi,
Hold down the "Resume" button on your MX310 for five seconds. Do so, then release it. You should get it to print then.
Good Luck!

    Hi,

If the machine receives a fax under one of the following conditions, the machine will not be able to print the received fax and will store it in its memory.

    • Ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax: replace the FINE Cartridge.

    • Paper size/type setting is incorrect: correct the paper size/type setting.

    • Paper has run out while receiving a fax: load the paper and press the OK button.

    • Output Tray is closed: open it.

    • OFF is selected for AUTO PRINT RX: select ON.

    • You pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax: press the FAX button.

    Good Luck!

  2. ??? The fax starts receiving documents in memory.
  3. ??? To cancel, press [ON/OFF] again.

AFTER REFILLING PAPER, MACHINE DOES NOT START RECEIVING FAXES IMMEDIATELY

It sounds like you have some bad jobs stuck inside the fax's memory. First print out a memory reference report. It will show you any bad jobs stuck in the system. Delete the memory reference jobs. Then go into set up and you want to turn off the option to store failed transmisions.

The system should store jobs while it is waiting for paper. If you have a lot of stored jobs and the memory is full it will not receive any more jobs until it can print out what is stored - so it would be normal for it not to recieve new jobs until all of the old jobs are printed.

On my Canon MX310, the display says "Waiting for Report". Fax Memory is clear, but the In Use/Memory light stays on.

Try this step ... found it on Canon's website

Issue: ERROR LCD: WAITING FOR REPORT
Solution: Set [AUTO PRINT RX] to ON (MX300 / MX310)

AUTO PRINT RX When [AUTO PRINT RX] is set to [OFF], incoming received faxes will be temporarily stored to memory and transaction reports (TX, RX and Activity) remain in memory. The default setting is [ON], which means incoming received faxes and transaction reports will automatically print. The fax machine will not automatically print a received fax and will store it in memory in the following conditions.
  • Ink is low or has run out
  • The paper size and type is not set correctly
  • Paper has run out
  • The Output Tray is closed
To set AUTO PRINT to ON, please follow these steps.
  1. Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.

  2. Press the <Menu> button. [FAX SETTINGS] is displayed

  3. Press the left or right arrow button to select [RX SETTINGS] , then press <OK> two times.

  4. Press the left arrow to select [ON], then press <OK>.

Note: When AUTO PRINT RX is set ON, a sub-menu will appear to PRINT WHEN NO INK.

  5. At sub-menu PRINT WHEN NO INK, decide if you'd like the machine to continue to print incoming received faxes if ink is low.

CAUTION: When this option is set ON, the fax machine will not monitor the ink level of the ink cartridges. If ink is low or out, received faxes will print with streaks or blank. Furthermore, once the fax is printed, it will be deleted from memory.
    1. To print received faxes when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [ON] and then press <OK>.
    2. To store received faxes in memory when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [OFF] and then press <OK>.

  6. Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby mode.

I have a sharp ar-m455n and it is stuck on 59% memory on the fax. There are no faxes pending it has been like this for quite a while. Repairman says its ''normal'', but I have had 100% memory before. what...

Something the fax received into memory has corrupted its RAM or it received bad data/info. You can clear this problem by going into service mode by pressing the following keys : (PS. you must be in copy mode) P * C * then enter 66 and "start" then you can use "7" to try and print out what is stuck in memory or enter "10" to clear out the image memory then press "start".
Reset copier after that and you should be good.

How do I print from memory

that's because there's a job that's stuck...
check the printer spooler for any print jobs that are hanging, delete them and the printer should start printing the fax on it's own... I just did that.

Received fax's are not printing. Unit prints confermations and is working as a printer but recieved fax's just park in memory and will not print.

TYPICALLY A FAX MACHINE WILL RECEIVE MESSAGE IN MEMORY WHEN NO PAPER OR TONER/INK FINISHED INDICATION IS THERE, REPLENISH THESE SUPPLIES WITH GENUINE ONES AND FAX WILL START PRINTING. IF PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED , PLEASE TRY TO CLEAR THE SETTING FOR MEMORY RECEIVING, IF STILL NOT SOLVED TRY BRINGING THE MACHINBE TO FACTROY SET SETTING BY CLEARING THE MEMORY. HAPPY FAXING OMNIPRESENT
