Question about RIM BlackBerry 8700g Smartphone

1 Answer

8700g BB keeps turning on a off without starting correctly

The BB is hung up in a endless loop of on and off. I've tried to connect to the computer to restore, but the BB isn't up long enough for this to be a possibility. It's killing me not to have my phone. Any help out there.

I just got a used BB 8700G but the power keeps turning off.. during no apparent instance. Its purely random. Could this be just the battery? or a problem with the phone itself?

This is called the hourglass of death...You need to reload the apps, but Desktop manager wont let you... You need to trick it into a connection

First make sure the BB is unplugged, then go to Program Files > Common Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader and run loader.exe. Click next, it will say port : COM PORT 1 now is the tricky part you have to plug in the BB and COM 1 will change to PIN: UNKOWN , when this happens you have to quickly click next before it reboots again, then it will ask for pin and now has an connection with the device so you can go ahead and re load all the apps.

Try this:
1. Unplug BB from PC.
2. Launch the Application Loader like you were going to install something.
3. While the app loader is attempting to connect to the BB, plug the USB cable into the BB.

Hi, from mexico n800 problem

Are you sure it's the right charger? The charger is not supplying enough "juice" to keep the N800 on when it turns on. Once it turns off, it charges enough to try and turn on again... hence the endless loop of power cycling.

Hope this helps,
Bill

My blackberry is not receiving any email messages

Sounds like your wife possibly removed your back up file for the BB.

Check your USB cable (i have gone through 2 recently - some fail) or If you have bluetooth enabled devices, try connecting that way.

Sorry I could not be of more help. :)
