Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

Toshiba NB200 running WinXP Home SP3 No webcam available. Newest driver/software package installed with NULL success. Camera Assistant Software says: Webcam is either disabled or has failed. Please check your webcam settings. Hardware is not visible in Device Manager. Latest BIOS installed. Unable to say when did the webcam disappear and why. Please help. Many hours spent on the net trying to find a solution but without any luck. Tried different (newer/older) driver packages but it didn't work either. I am an advanced user and I've totally ran out of ideas (clean Windows install is out of the question - system is running fine). Please help. Thanks. Regards, Matt

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: not able to install web camera

you click ignore and continue anyway when this message pops up and it will continue to install. All the message means is that microsoft has not tested the driver to work on its system, it doesnt mean its not safe or not going to work.

Software for HP KQ245AA webcam will not upload with Windows XP Pro and SP3. Works fine with Vista but not my XP laptop even when I run setup.exe nothing opens or uploads. What Can I do?

As an update to the posted problem, I have got the camera software loaded by opening the disc contents and then opening folders and clicking on individual setup arrows. This after the auto setup for the disc, repeatedly failed to work with the XP home SP3.

As this is only a partial success and not the way it all should have installed, I am now talking to HP about the issue.
Yes the camera now works on my XP operated laptop, but not all the arcsoft and HP add ons work yet. Watch this space.

Reinstall my camera assistant software

I believe the best way to re-install that is by using the Recovery CD that came with that NB. Just insert the CD, run it inside windows & it should ask you to install applications & driver. Install the camera software and/or drivers and you should be good.

Hope this helps.

About my vista home basic

Hi,

Check in the device manager to know whether the drivers are installed.

The issue would be bcause of the drivers. You can install the drivers using the drivers cd which you shold be having.

You can also use this

Start / Programmes / Camera Assistant. No idea who the software publishers are.

Whether or not this software is running, You can start the webcam using the [Alt] - [F7].

Bluetooth :

Try to enable it using key combination FN+F8.

You can download the bluetooth software from here :

Good Luck.

Toshiba A-200 10W webcam locked by another application

I don't know what exactly fixed the problem but I managed to fix it. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite A215 by the way.

Here's what I did
Control Panel >> System Maintenance >> Device Manager

Go to Imaging Devices and right-click "Chicony USB 2.0 Camera" and choose "Update Driver Software"

First I clicked on "Search automatically for updated driver software" but everything was already up to date. So then I went to "Browse my Computer for Driver Software" and then to "Let Me Pick from a List". I updated the USB Video Device and rebooted but that only made it worse I think. Then I tried updating one of the "Chicony USB 2.0 Camera"'s and that did the trick. Yey. So now my webcam works.
