50 inch LG Plasma TV, gives me the HDD problem detected screen and shuts off continuously, it takes about 10 minutes to get the TV to stay on. A clicking noise comes on and when the clicking goes off, the sound comes on. HELP!

The power supply board have problems,it not giving the tv the right votage anymore.That why it shutting down,not sustancening power to the tv anymore.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power board for the replacement.
Power supply board have dead capcitors.Know how to solders?These capacitors usally bulge or pop open,replaced these capacitors will solved this problem.Or tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a Whole reburbish power supply board for the replacement.
If the repair shop says it is powerboard it means they already took a look at the TV and you dont need to worry about it. If you have any doubt please post the sympton here (detailed) and I can tell you for sure what the TV needs. I need to know what the led does and how it does.
This is almost certainly the device that sends electricity to the the plasma in the panel after failing. Bring to your local repair shop and expect to pay 300-400 parts and 100-200 labour.
call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
first i would try unplugging it for about 5 minutes to reset the set. after that i would need more detail as to the problem is there sparkles in the screen is it a certain portion of the set any info you can give
