Question about RC Remote Control Helicopter Ready To Fly

1 Answer

Yiboo UJ4708 will not lift even after being fully charged. It will just hover an inch off the ground. It doesn't sound right to me either when its running.

I had the same problem.. one of the gears isn't fully engaged.. if you look at the internal mechanism, you'll see two small gears on opposite sides, each engages a larger gear... during impact, these gears can slide and become not fully engaged. That is the strange sound you are hearing. this also prevents the propellers from spinning up fast enough to get fully off the ground. I used a small jewelers screwdriver to reach in and push the problem gear back into place.

I can see the two gears you are talking about, but they seem fully engaged. I cant see that there is anything else to do. Any other suggestions?

I just bought one last night and the top blades were not spinning correctly and it sounded weird. The gear on the motor shaft on the aft end was below the large bottom drive gear. The gear easily slide up and down the motor shaft. I used a small screw driver and put it back in place, but it slide back down. I think mcphee7163's problem was that the gear was twisting around the motor shaft instead and couldn't turn the drive gear.

How do i know when its fully charged

You should have an icon in lower right corner of the taskbar for your battery. "Hover" over it with your mouse. When it shows 100%, it is fully charged.

Will not fly lift . Seem to run well but will not lift off the ground

The batteries on the Helicopter need to be fully charged to take off.

And important: to recharge the helicopter fully it needs really good base unit batteries.

I find all this a waste so - I used a wall power supply to supply suitable power to the charging bases of these helicopters give more consistant results than using batteries.. Just make sure you are using a 9V DC wall transformer (6 1.5v batteries = 9v) and that the polarity is correct.

We have lost our instruction manuals for our rc heicopters. is the small tail propellar supposed to spin? we can't get them to liftoff the main propellars seem to be working fine.

Sadly, Bob is incorrect here. In a coaxial helicopter, the main rotors spin in opposite directions, equalizing the centrifugal force and allowing the craft to hover without spinning, fine-tuned by the adjustment of the trim control. The counter-rotating main blades and internal gyroscopes provide a stable hover, while the tail rotor serves only to push the rear of the chopper up or down, providing the forward/backward thrust. If you are not moving the right joystick, you tail rotor should be stationary, or perhaps moving lazily from the wash of the main rotors. Sounds like a charging issue. What type of charger are you using? Also, Li/Po batteries are not meant to be fully discharged. Fully draining a Li/Po too many times, ESPECIALLY when they are new, will ruin them. Luckily the batteries on an 032 are easily replaceable. Available on Amazon and many other online retailers, and replaced in about 1 minute with only a small screwdriver. With a new Li/Po, charge them FULLY with the correct charger, and always stop the flight as soon as you are having to give it full power to maintain altitude. Also CRUCIAL is you MUST MUST MUST let the battery rest and cool for after a flight, wait a good 10 minutes BEFORE you connect the heli to the charger, and another 10 minute cool down after charging before you fly.
Hope this helps

Did you fully charge both batteries before using them the first time? If not then they may not be able to hold a charge. It sounds to me like the batteries are either dead or defective as obviously the saw now doesn't have the juice to cut the board. If it's still under warranty take it back and get a replacement. Also, how powerful are the batteries? Even an 18V saw will struggle sometimes cutting a 2x4, they just don't have that much power. The plywood is easier to cut obviously.

Turn both helicopters and remotes off. Then switch the remote to another channel, either a,b, or c, turn on HELICOPTER FIRST, turn on REMOTE second. Move throttle up and down, helicopter should start responding.

I believe the Syma S018 is the same as my Yiboo UJ417.
Mine never got off the ground out after charging for an hour.
It just skitters along the ground. Must be a bad battery. Returning it if I can.
