See page #36 from the manual for a complete illustration that would be far better than my attempts at describing it here.

HOW TO CANGE BELT ON SIMPLICITY 9.8 VACUUM

This is pretty easy. Turn vac upside down, remove brush cover, brush with belt on it pops out on each side. You must get the exact replacement belt so take your model number and any other numbers to vacuum repair shop. The belt around brush then around motor spindle, replace brush and cover.

Belt replacement on simplicity synergy x9 series

Your simplicity has a lifetime belt. It has a sensor to shut the direct air motor off if something restricts the brushroll from from turning. You may save money in the long run by taking it to a simplicity or Riccar vacuum dealer.

Burnt rubber smell when vacuuming

This could be a few things:

A. If your model has a floor selector switch (Bare floor/tools - Carpet) your clutch could be worn. (there is a rubber clutch pad between your cam and roller shell) - Fix would be to replace the clutch pad and belt.

B. If you don't have one of the above models, your belt could be stretched. The belt slipping could cause a rubber burning smell. Fix - Change belt.

C. Have you got any new carpet you are vacuuming or have you moved? Some of the newer style frieze carpets can cause burning rubber smell. The fibers of the carpet are longer and cause the brush to slow down causing the belt to burn. (Imagine brushing long hair with a thick brush, the hair easily gets tangled in the brush, same effect with this carpet.) Some of the newer rugs can do this as well. Some newer carpets with the thicker felt backing and/or the "pet padding" under the carpet can too. it doesn't allow enough air to flow through causing the cleaner head to seal itself to the carpet causing a burning smell. The fix is Move to another home, replace your carpets or replace your vacuum. The vacuum is the cheaper option but be cautious as most vacuums now do this with these carpets. We have had really good response from customers using the Simplicity Tandem Air models, (Synchrony and Synergy models.)

Hope this helps, if you need to talk further feel free to contact me.

Simplicity F3500-- how do I get the bottom off to change the belt?

To change the belt on the Simplicity F3500, unplug the vacuum and turn it upside down. There are two tabs (one on each side) behind the beater bar that hold the cover on the vacuum. Press these tabs inward and lift the bottom plate away from the unit.

Then remove the brushroll and the worn or broken belt from the pulley on the side of the brush roll and the drive shaft. Loop the new belt over the driveshaft and the brushroll. Replace the brushroll in the housing and turn it by hand. Make sure that the belt is seated on the driveshaft and pulley with no twists. Also check that all of the rotating parts will move.

Then put the bottom cover back on by aligning the back hinges and then pressing the plate down until both sides click.

For pictures of the cover removal process, look at page 15 in the manual. The direct link is http://www.simplicityvac.com/about-my-simplicity/manuals/FreedomManual_Update0803.pdf . Most Simplicity vacuum manuals are available at their support site: http://www.simplicityvac.com/about-my-simplicity/manuals/ .

I hope this helps.

I have a Simplicity dryer that needs a drum belt. Mine snapped. The rest of the dryer works. Do you have a universal belt that will fit this model. It is old. I do not know where to look for the model # as...

the model #dvlr223 is missing some numbers and letters at the end, if you can find the whole model number, open the door and you should see a decal with the model and serial number, you can go to www.searspartsdirect and enter your model # and you will get an exploded view of all the parts for your dryer, try to get the part # and find it local, they charge alot for shipping

How do I cange the belt on a DC07 ???? Not sure

You need to know which model of DC07 you've got. Some have a clutch (and two belts - motor to clutch, and clutch to brush roller) while others don't. Changing the belt on a clutchless model is simplicity itself. On a clutched model, you've got a challenge: the belts are an integral part of the clutch assembly, and normally the whole thing must be replaced. For excellent illustrated step-by-step guidance go to www.dysonmedic.com and good luck!

Changing the belt

My husband changed the belt on our vacuum, now the metal frame doesn't fit back on the bottom. Also, there is a small metal clip that we don't know where it belongs.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You should check on the owner’s manual to see how it goes together or call the Simplicity customer service line listed below to see what goes where. It’s been awhile since I have worked on a simplicity vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
