Question about Gateway GT5242E PC Desktop
A loose contact on the SATA bus ports (a red colour cable connecting Hard disk and motheboard) is the most commom reason.
It becomes hard and shrinks after a period of time causing poor data flow....
Remove Power from PC
gently push the SATA cable,
Plug it back and try to start PC
OR consult hardware engineer
