Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hello, I have a 6 year old Sylvania tube TV that is the red is going in and out. I took a TV/VCR/PC repair class in high school, that was 12 years ago and I do not know where my notes are. I am an engineering student do I do have experience working with electronic, but I am trying to save some time but asking someone with a little more experience troubleshooting this problem. What could be cauing the red to go out in the picture? note: I still am seeing a picture, just without the color red being mixed in to it.

Hi there. i am not familiar with the set you have as im in the uk,but my best bet is a dry joint on the crt base panel.a good re-solder of the whole board may do the trick for you and will not take long,as the average crt base is only around three inches square or so
regards,
steve uk.

How to hookup Sanyo DVW-6100 to a Sylvania tv

If the Sylvania tv is a CRT (old style tube tv) you can just use an RCA cable and hook it into the composite video. It will be the cable that has a red, white and yellow connectors on it. The yellow is the video, the red is the right audio and the white is the left audio. Connect ones side of this cable to the output of the DVD/TAPE player and to the input on the TV side.

I need the remote contol code for a sylvania 6313cb 13in. tv/vcr combo

Hello
Universal remote code for Sylvania TV/VCR Combo is:
0227
Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand

Sylvania 27 inch stereo flat screen tv

This problem sounds like a short inside the picture tube itself unless a driver transistor failed that drives the red gun in the CRT. You may have to take it to an authorized repair facility if the picture tube is still in warranty.

Sony KV-32S40 32" TV problem

intermittent problems can usuall be liked to bad solder connections. And sony typically has some that will develop after a few years in the power supply. so check for bad sodler connections throught the main board & give a close look to the power supply & check you work after to make sure you have no shorted pins. good luck.

Tv has bad blue crt (pix tube) said the repairman

If you have a service manual or the experience to do this then I guess you can repair it. You do need a cross hatch generator to do an alighnment and sometimes an ocilliscope to adjust horizontal alighnments as per the service manual. Your paying for what the man took years to learn as repairing TV sets is not an overnight thing. As to the worth its up to you, do you wantt to invest this much money in a set that cost you a bundle?? How old is it? will answer your Question as they usually "made" to go for at least 5 to 7 years. After that its a crap shoot and if its older I wouldnt invest a dime in it. Unless you know how to repair it I would say buy a new one as the other tubes may go out a week from now or it could be 3 years from now as we TV techs are not fortune tellers. Good Luck
