Question about HP LaserJet 2840 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

I am getting a 50.2 error on my HP lazerjet 2840 . It would seem to be a fuser problem. I took out the back and nothing seems to be disconnected. How much is a reconditioned fuser if I have to buy one. Or what else can I do. Its a 3 in one and the fax won't work either.)

Try reseating the fuser. If that doesn't work then you will need to replace the fuser. If that doesn't work then the fuser power supply needs to be replaced. The fax is another problem. First get the printer working.

  1. Turn off the device, and then disconnect the power cord.

  3. Turn off the device, and then disconnect the power cable.
  4. Rotate the locks on the fuser to the unlocked position, On the rear of the printer.

Grasp the fuser handle and pull the fuser assembly from the device, .

CAUTION: The parts on the internal surface of the fuser are very hot. To avoid being burned, do not touch those parts.

Using both hands, slowly and steadily remove any print media from inside the device. Then, carefully reinsert the fuser and secure the locks.

HP Color LaserJet 2840 keeps showing 50.2 Fuser error message. Nothing helps correct problem. What to do? Have tried repeatedly turning printer off, waiting several seconds and turning on again. Each time...

The fuser is the heating unit near the paper exit, and that error means the lamp is burned out, the overtemp sensor is out, or the thermistor in the fuser is bad. About all you can do is replace the fuser. www.precisionroller.com will have a new fuser for you.

HP LazerJet 2840 Error Problem

What are you using it for? If it's for an industrial application, there are lazer printers that are made to hold up to the heavier work load. They're not as cheap though.

Need to order a replacement FUSER it's located in the rear of the printer. If you live in the USA you need 110V if you're in Euro 220V see below for the part number you need to order.

Hp laserjet 2840 all in one gives FUSER ERROR

For any fuser error, the first thing that should be done is replacing the fuser. If the error still shows up after wards, it could be the LVPS (Low voltage power supply) or a board.

HP Laser Jet 2840 50.2 Fuser Error

Usually this means that the fuser is not heating to the correct operating temperature. Remove the fuser and check all contacts. Be careful it can be very hot. Always let it cool down for atleast 30 minutes before touching the face of the fuser. After you check it over and clean off any contacts, reseat the fuser back into the printer. Plug it back in and turn the printer on. If this doesn't work and you still get the error, the fuser needs to be replaced.

2840 printer 50.1 & 50.2 error dometimes 13.0 error

Thanks CoolDragon. Ifollowed your advice and eventually replaced it.

After trying to pull out and reseat the fuser a few times (I would even get one or two prints out of it each time), I finally ordered another fuser and problem has gone away. I did google and purchasing site searches (pricegrabber, pricewatch, etc) and found a decent priced site, that also gave discount for your returned bad unit (they gave you so many days to return it), otherwise they'd charge your credit card for the extra dsicount they had origanlly given.
