Refrigerator runs too much

When I moved into this house 3 years ago, the refrigerator rarely ran and the dial was set at 3. All was good.  Recently, I noticed it running more often and food freezing. I turned the dial down to 1 and it still runs all the time. I have home appliance insurance and the repairman said that was normal...I think they never want to replace an appliance and he gave me a story.

My dial wont move to different settings and on the wash its on it wont fill

If your dial will not turn, there should be one of two things wrong with it.
1) If your machine is over 10 years old, it is likely the timer/control is broken ( as in: worn out), and will need replacement.
2) If it is less than 10 years old, it could also be the plastic ears of the timer/control have broken off and again, that unit must be replaced.
(About 10 years ago, the timer/control began to be changed from a metal housing to a plastic housing on some machines.)
God bless your efforts to fix it.

I have a True tbb-2g that recently froze some beer in bottles and also a lot of moisture on bottles still in cooler that I have not enjoyed yet ! it is no froze up and compressor was replaced 3 years

Is the condenser clean and clear? Is the fan running? Sometimes when the fan fails the compressor runs and runs and runs. First thing you need to do is go to the supermarket and pick up a red stick thermometer and find out what kind of temperature you have. Try setting the temperature warmer. Is the coil iced up at one end? If it is there is a good chance the system has a leak and needs a look at from a tech with some tools. Hope this helps good luck.

Sharp Aquos has distorted colors

The set should be transported upright but that rarely causes these issues-----suspect either main signal board or also possible is the power supply (for voltages changing when set is on).

Also if set was opened look for all plugs to be seated--ones with cloth tape where they connect look at first.

failing that based on age of set consider having a technician look at it or if over 3 years consider a new set with extended warranty--70% of this type of set in our shop (100 plus sets at any time in for repair) are less than 3 years old.

I moved into a house 3 years ago and inherited a Kenmore washing machine that is 30 years old and still working. The problem is the dial letter is worn off, so I am never quite sure what type of settings...

I too had a machine just like you. What I did was get a sharpie marker pen and slowly turned the dial and when I landed on a setting I would make that location. I would do that for all of the locations and test the water if it is cold, warm, hot and label appropriately. If you go to a store and look at the dials you will normally see three settings. On the left will be normal everyday setting, to the right is the more specialize settings and bottom is the permanent press settings.

Personally speaking I would be happy knowing where the hot and cold settings are and I can do all of my laundry. Good Luck and have fun

My sub-zero refrigerator setting was on 7 when i moved into my home 4 years ago and I noticed recently it was not cooling enough so first i cleaned the filter area but it still seamed not to be as cool as...

Good day,
The important thing is to make sure the condenser coil is cleaned properly.
It is critical to the operation of the machine.
The coil is too thick to be vacuumed or brushed out. It is necessary, to blow the dirt out completely.
Service techs use compressed air with a hose, but a good substitute is a good push/pull shop vac with a crevice tool attachment. It's messy and dirty, but necessary.
After that the setting on the control should be set where you like it.
The control may be going out of calibration due to age, and as long as it can be set to any number that works, then that is O.K.
Although seemingly high, 7 seems to be the settings most Sub Zero owners like.

Thank you for using FixYa

Moved frig then plugged in and ran for several days then quit, then two days later started again and then a week later quit again? Frig is a ten year old side by side Kenmore about 21 sq feet, ice maker...

If you didn't give it enough time for the oil to settle back in the compressor that could be the problem. I would try leaving it off for a day to see if it will settle down and run better.

Problems with Maytag 21 cu.ft. Top Mount Refrigerator, MTF2172HR

not nessecarily an electrical fire, but sounds as if the compressor is struggling to start, it is indeed "tripping off" on overload. so yo may start ot see a decline in refrigeration. check your manual for "sealed system" coverage. adn check that against our date of purchase, you should have 5 yr manufactuere warr, but that all changed Jan '06 coverage was reduced to one year! yo ucan try replacing teh overlaod relay, atached ot the side of the compressor if youd like
