Power

I bought this from a Japanese supplier when it first came out. The notebook has been sitting idle in an air conditioned environment for several years.
Today I tried charging the battery via an automobile charger and the orange light over the battery symbol is still lit. This model has mostly Japanese characters on the keyboard and there is no clear indicator of the power on button. My question is whether this is worth fixing or even where it could be fixed. I do not have the original power charger or the operating manual. Can you Help. Thanks.
