No Picture on Mitsubishi v45605 rear projection tv

Posted by rfd97sts on May 23, 2008 Report abuse

I think the tuner on the set is out , no picture or sound ,but I can play DVDs or other video source .. I checked the cable and it works with other tvs.. If the tuner is out can I use my Denon receiver as the tuner to the VS 45605 rather than replacing the tuner? Thanks R.D.
Still need a solution for this problem?

If it works the way you have it setup now, leave that way. Plug all your video sources to the denon if possible and leave it that way.
If the denon has the feature to change channels like a cable converter then you can use it or if you still have a VCR you can also use it as a tuner just to tune the cable channels and use the audio/video outputs from it to the TV or denon receiver.
The tuner might not even be available anymore and if it's, is expensive.
Good Luck.

After big storm the tv only shows small picture in upper right corner. Will not allow to go to full screen. VS-45603

You are in pip mode, and if itwill not let show on regular mode, then your tuner is out,and youcan bypass it and go directly into the video input with RCA cables from your recieever, and put your set in video mode, better picture, and save you 500 dollars on a new tuner.

Can not get my picture and picture to work. the tv tells me i can't use the same device for side by side pictures.

You probably need to connect a different input. i.e tuner+video or aleast two different signal if you don`t have a split tuner.

The tv acts like the cable has gone out even though it has not. on my mitshubishi rear projection 52 in

do you have the yellow video and red and white audio rca cables ?
it will give you a better picture than the coax connection.
but the tv tuner may be going , so using the rca jacks would eliminate the tuner, but finding out which tuner is bad ( cable box if using one or the tv tuner)should be checked with another tv to see if it also happends to that tv , if it does not then the other tv tuner is bad and needs to be replaced

you have a problem on the chassis. either the FMT, DM, or the terminal board have gone bad. the quickest most effective way to repair would be to repair the chassis. check out www.tv-techs.com

Snowy picture

Usually a snowy picture means that you have a bad ground connection. You should see that some channels are beter than others. Verify that the cable connection is good. Try a different cable if you can. If that has no effect, than we need to start looking at the tuner itself. If you can change channels but just have a poor picture, chances are that a resolder of the tuner section will resolve the problem.

yes if the tuner is out and you want to save some money then running an external set top box or your denon are fine. more often than not you will also have better picture quality.
