Question about Mitsubishi WS-65411 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65411. It's 8 yrs old. The TV shut off after being on for about an hour. We tried to turn it back on and it would shut back off right away. We did the self-diagnosis feature and it gave a code of 2-1 (x-ray protect high voltage or beam current). We tried to run the TV on a "static" channel and after a couple of minutes instead of gray/black static it showed grean/red static. Wasn't sure if that info would also help. I called a repair place and they are ordering a main and/or power board to fix it. Was curious of your thoughts on repairing it.

What I need to do to see high definition in my WS 65411??

If this set does not have a HD Tuner, you must use a HD cable Box or HD Satillite Receiver. The HD Componet inputs are marked on the back of the unit.
You will need a set of Componet Cables and a set of Audio Cables. Match the output of which ever Converter you have with the cables to your tv and you are done.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65411 purchased on 08/2003. TV is on for less than minute and it shuts off. A technician replaced the convergence amps on 11/2009. It is doing it again!

Two things---first if the chips were replaced recently you may have a new one bad.

Second: do the self check that this set has:

when it shuts off and the power light goes off: On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the MENU AND INPUT (or DEVICE) BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME AND HOLD THEM FOR AT LEAST 5 SECONDS AND THEN RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS.

The power light will blink a 2 digit error code:
The most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.
