Question about Minolta magicolor 2350 Laser Printer

2 Answers

My magicolor 2350 printer states that cyan is empty and will not print. However, it is set to print even when empty. Also replacing it with a new cartridge does not solve the problem. I can get it to print test pages by asking it to print them at the printer and then forcing a complete reset from the web page. However, it still will not print from a normal driver or from it's direct print interface. The driver state that it is out of toner.

I did that and then it said the magenta and then the yellow were out. So I knobbled all three.

So now it thinks it has three new cartridges and a fairly full black.

However, now it says the OPC drum is out. However, the statistics page indicates the OPC drum should still have some life left and in any case the printer is set to continue with OPC drum out.

It still wil not print apart from internal pages on restart up sometimes.

Any ideas? Can I knobble the OPC drum? It seems to have a broken spiggot that is turned by the gears and forces a break perhaps when new?

The printer uses an "eye" to check the level of toner. You can override this. Open the front door of the printer and take out the cartridge. There is a small round "window" (less than 1/4" in diameter) about halfway along on the right hand side of the cartridge. Stick a small bit of black insulation tape (or scotch tape colored black with a permanent marker) over the window and pop back into the printer. When you turn the printer on, it won't even give that "Cyan toner low" message!

My magicolor 2350 printer states - 85.gif Re: Minolta Magicolor 2300 by future.child (12/9/04 10:46 PM) reply + / - there is no menu option to reset the cartrige.
If you take a look at the cartrige a look at the cartrige there should be s small metal tab sticking out, if you move this tab back into the cartrige the printer thinks it's new.
have a look at the following link (in german)
Don't know about these tabs, but maybe it will work. Here is another suggestion to try:

Step 1 and Step 2 explain how to get to the new cartridge sensor and do the reset. Just remesh the gears on the small black plastic sensor with the white gear. Be carefull on reassembly to ensure the tab on the black sensor is properly fitted into its end cap slot. During or after reassembly, do not turn any gear after the two set of gears are properly meshed. Otherwise, the cartridge will not register as new upon installation.

This also works with the Epson Aculaser C900/1900 cartridges. Same cartridges.
And here is the link:
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hello. I am getting a message that my yellow toner cartridge is empty and the printer (Konica Minolta 2300W)refuses to print out anything, even though I got it into the B/W mode. The complete message...

It won't print anything if one cartridge is empty, even black when the colour is empty. Are you using new or refilled cartridges? The cartridge has a chip on top that counts your number of prints, so it could feel full, but has reached it's end counter. Try another cartridge. That should solve your problem

No, it will not. I have this printer and last week I ran out of cyan. Even though i only wanted to print black and white documents the printer would not print anything until I replaced the cyan cartridge.

make sure your cartridge is not stuck and pushed in all the way in printer. If it gets struck it will dump ink out and waste it.

Need Override for Low Toner Message Minolta QMS 2300

It depends on the model. The 2300 series using a mechanical mirror on the cartridge itself. A tab needs to be moved the mirror slid back to home. The 2400 series & newer uses an IC that you need to replace. when you buy your toner to refill the cartridge make sure you get the IC with it. Russell

Question about mc 2350 cartridge

I just got done replacing my toner.  You'll need to change toner and most likely all of them. There is no other solution.  I refill mine by buying the bottle toners.  It can be messy and you'll need to take some parts off the cartridge to get to the opening plug and reset the lever so that the printer knows the cartridge is full.  It is cheaper than buying a toner. The cartridge has a life of about three refills.  Anyway hope this answers your problem.

Printing toner is very low

Most manufactures supply the new machines with a starter toner. If you replace them with genuine new Minolta cartridges you should yield a lot more!
