Question about ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK Netbook
What is the operating system installed on the Laptop? Did you make any changes recently, like installed new programs or uninstalled/deleted something from the computer?
I would suggest you to check the Fn key. Press Fn+Numlock (Num) key simultaneously and try typing again. Sometimes only pressing the Fn key does the trick.
Well, let me give you a hint, open up notepad, then press Fn+Numlk and again type something in the notepad including those defective keys, if only once pressing is not helpful, press the keys (Fn+Numlk) twice and try typing again. Do the same only with the Fn key, press once and type in the notepad.
It's also possible that on of the Shift Key is stuck or pressed. Check both the Shift keys, press 5 times on each of the Shift keys, if something opens up when press 5 times, then it's not the problem (simply close the opened window, don't make any changes, it'll be hard for you to revert them). If nothing happens, then it's should the key must be defective, you need to take out the button and clean it with a cotton dampen with acetone/alcohol.
If nothing mentioned is helpful, let me know with more details.
Thanks for using FixYa.
