Yes, any hydraulic leaks will affect the entire machine. They are also extremely dangerous when pressurized (used) and hydraulic fluid is hazardous. Repair the leaks correctly before operating the machine further.
If the tractor suddenly quit, the hydraulic pump shaft might have broken,( due to misalignment) with engine...
if the engine the pump must also runs.if it brakes entire system fails
hence the result.

Hi James:
The forward and back comes from the transmission,
The loader is from the hydraulic accessory drive.
On my old Case it is a Cessna pump located at the front of the engine, driven from the crankshaft.
The first thing to check is to see if you have had a hydraulic failure. Pool of fluid under machine?
Then check the reservoir to see if there is adequate flouid in it.
Then check the pump and drive for failure.
It is also possible that the linkage from your loader control has become disconnected. Let's hope that's what it is as that's the easiest to repair.
Cheerfuls.
Hi, don't know if you have checked this but anyway if you hydraulic oil filter is clean there may be another sintered bronze filter in the sump of the hydraulic tank this could be patially blocked> don't know this particular machine but if it is partially blocked it may be that you will clean that or there is air in the hydraulic system. Hope this is of some help. Steve
raise front loader....loosen hyd. line a little lower loader till all air is released and only fluid is coming out and retighten.....its like bleedig brakes on a car
