We did not put the shipping parts in when we moved. I noticed the drum inside the machine bangs from side to side. Is the machine broke and what can I do?

Drum vibrates and bangs during spin cycle but it is not off balance

if it's a front load washer most likely the spider gear is gone, usually from using to much detergent,it would be cheaper to replace the washer than to fix this one.if you look inside at the drum you'll see like a peace sign on the back wall, this is what broke on the other side of the drum and the whole back half of the drum needs to be replaced. you can check to see if a shock is broke but like i said most likely it will be the spider time send the brand name and model number on the machine.

With some loads ie towels, the drum moves about so much that it bangs on the inside of the casing and the whole machine tries to walk around the room.

there are some "shock absorbtion" devices inside that may be can try to remove the top lid and look down on either side of the drum...the shock absorbers look like cylinders and are mounted at the bottom of the on either side should also have two springs at the top..make sure these are in place...if the shock devices are defective(usually they break at the mounting side on the floor pan of the washer) you can try getting new ones at

Yes I do know unfortunely the basket support broke. This support is mounted on to the back of the basket and goes through the rear bearing and the back half of the outer tub. This is a very extensive repair .the unit has to be totally disassembled ,if it only broke the support it is about 100.00 , but if the rear tub bearing is also damaged you may consider replacing the unit with a new one either way this is an expensive and extensive repair...

sounds like the stabilizers broke or came loose. you should be able to remove the front bottom cover and see the stabilizers. you should also have an access panel in the back you can remove to look things over

Drum loose, the whole thing moves around bangs from side to side

Try checking this one possible cause, unplug and remove the supply and waste hoses lay machine over and look under the machine. There is three arms on the bottom of the tub that have tension springs that keep the drum centered you may notice that one or more of these springs may have broken. If this is the case replace these springs and that should resolve the problem.

Loud banging on spin cycle frigidare washing machine model no. fws235rft2

If this is a front loader this is a common problem. Unfortunately, it is also a very extensive project (about 8 hours). The tripod supports that attache the drum to the center spindle commonly break. The remedy is to replace both the front and rear tub, and the basket as well. It is also recommended that you replace the drain pump as well. Generally, they will cover the parts (not including the drain pump) under warranty but the labor will be a customer pay.

Tub wobbles terrably in spin mode

Try lifting the inner drum to check if there is any movement between the inner and outer drums, also turn the drum and listen for any grinding or scraping sound from the rear of the drum. Its possible that your bearings have gone out & need to be replaced. The job is far from easy.

Machine banging when in fast spin

if the noise is coming from inside the drum then it will be the bear ings if this machine is less than 3years old then this is what bust hotpoint they changed the bearing setup and put a spring on it which its the spring that is the complete failure u need to take the complete drum out strip this put the new bearing set in but without the spring this wil put at least 2-3years on the bearings its a big job and costs about £120 to fix u r accually better off buying a completely different washer no good are hotpoints anymore m8
