Question about HP (D7580-60003) Motherboard

2 Answers

My friend has an hp he bought - one or two years ago, everything works fine except the mouse and keyboard ports are all messed up from the cords being ripped out and put back in, is there any way to just replace the ports; we noticed it is attached to the motherboard directly?

If you are sure that the ports are bad due to negligence I would suggest getting an internal ps/2 pci card. Check your users manual or look up your motherboard for available slots. Some are PCI and others are PCIe or express.

Istallation is easy. Let me know if you go this route and we can assist you.

Example of what you would need:

Newegg.com - SYBA PCI 32-bit High Speed USB 2.0 2x Ports and 2x PS2 Port Combo Card Model SD-NECPS-2U2PS2 - Add-On Cards http://shar.es/04LKy

Try the keyboard and mouse on anothe system. if it works fine the on board PS2 port is most likely bad. Buy a USB keyboard and mouse in plalace of the PS2 keybaord and mouse or change the motherbord. If the keyboard and mouse is bad replace with a good one.

Unotron optical mouse under Vsta HPrm !

The Unotron CS5100 range was discontinued some 3 - 4 years ago and replaced with the WS5100 so I am guessing that the one you have would not support Vista.

Have you tried contacting the place you bought it from, maybe they will switch it for you?

HP 3 button wireless optical mouse

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

No mouse or keyboard power

There might be. Try the Keyboard and mouse on another computer and see if they work. By the way, are they wireless?
