Yes, because the toshiba satellite p205 has a processor in a socket (instead of one that is surface-mounted and soldered right on to the motherboard), you can buy another processor and install it in your notebook. just be sure to update your bios to the latest version first, and pick a processor that is supported by the motherboard.

As what I have learned, laptops processors cannot be upgraded. only the memory can be upgraded.

Possible upgrades for a Toshiba Satellite A135

With notebook there are not many upgrades available, but if you are using a lot of multi-media it is savvy to increase you memory.

My suggestion is that you look to go up to 2 Gb; you should see a nice different on performances.
