I had the same problem and the only way to fix it is see if it is still under warranty and send it back to the company.

No maps found

When your tom tom comes up with the no maps found error message. There are several causes to the problem.
If you updated your map using the latest map guarantee and then get the error No maps found, make sure you install the latest version of the TomTom application.
Check for the latest application: Connect your navigation device or memory card to your computer and click Update my device in TomTom HOME to check if a new application is available.
You can check the version of your application in TomTom HOME. Connect your device and then click Manage my device and select the Items on my device tab. Expand Applications and then click More info.
Your map may require the latest version of the TomTom application.
Check for the latest application Connect your navigation device or memory card to your computer and click Update my device in TomTom HOME to check if a new application is available.
HOME may not immediately offer the latest application version when installing a downloadable map on a blank memory card. Re-connect your memory card to HOME and check for the latest application by clicking Update my device in HOME. HOME this time offers the latest application for your device. Try Installing maps on a new memory card
You can check the version of your application in TomTom HOME. Connect your device and then click Manage my device and select the Items on my device tab. Expand Applications and then click More info.
You need to also make sure all files are in the right places. Browse the content of your navigation device:
Windows XP: Click Start > My Computer and then double-click the removable drive of your device.
Windows 7 / Windows Vista: Click the Windows start button > Computer and then double-click the removable drive of your device.
Mac OS X: Double-click the desktop icon of your navigation device.
Check the following:
The map folder (e.g. Western_Europe) needs to be located in the root directory of your navigation device or memory card. This means the map folder may not be inside another folder. Before you move the map folder we recommend that you create a manual backup.
The map folder needs to contain at least the following files
cline.dat cname.dat cnode.dat faces.dat mapinfo.dat poi.dat tables.dat tmccodes.dat traffic.dat .meta (map v705 or higher will have/need this file) .meta.dct (map v705 or higher will have/need this file) .pna
If any of these files are missing restore a previously made backup or re-install your map to your device (in TomTom HOME click Add Traffic, Voices, Safety Cameras etc. > Items on my computer).
Hpe this was helpful. Thanks for using fixya.

Error message, failed to open file:igo/480_272/loading.bmp exiting application. clarion map 670 sat nav, seems to be in constant loop trying to pair phone on bluetooth and above error appears when selecting...

The solution that worked for me is: in your iGO installation folder, open SYS.TXT file then find section [interface] next check if exist something like this: skin="ui_igo8" if not then add it, but you must first check in your DATA.ZIP file what is the name of the folder it can be ui_igo8_da, ui_igo8_pda... depending on version. After that iGO will load normally. One more thing, I've added this section at the end of SYS.TXT file [loading] show_statustext=1 show_progressbar=0 progressbar_x=62 progressbar_y=174 progressbar_bmp="loading_progressbar.bmp" ;you can disable this line bu putting ; sign at the beggining loading_bmp="loading.bmp" ;you can disable this line bu putting ; sign at the beggining
Hoppe this will help you!

Nvx430bt jensen gps initialization error no language files

Hi.

This happens when the language files stored in your Jensen's memory get damaged. The Sat Nav system will look for new language files on your USB memory, and return the error.

Often the problem happens because you formatted the disk.

I suggest to start trying to set language to English.

In theory you are supposed to restore the flash image from original CD or computer backup.

A first attempt to fix the problem can be done resetting the Sat Nav. Just take out the battery for ten seconds.

If you have the original CD, files to be restored are in the IGO folder, and must be copied into the flash disk.

Files to be copied are

  • igolaunch.exe
  • IGOPATH.TXT
  • SettingsBackup.ini
  • TAHOMA.TTF
  • TAHOMABD.TTF

If that does not work, contact Jensen/Audiovox clicking here, they will enable a download of the language files to replace the damaged ones.

Tomtom go 520 speech recognition not working

Create a text file called support_asr.dat, open that file and write the number 1 in the file. Save and close then copy the support_asr.dat file to the ASR directory on your TomTom internal drive. You must have map version that support ASR.

Fatal error, unable to open application database

Have you tried the reset button? It would be found on the lower right side on the rear panel. Don't really know if this will fix your particular problem, but it might be worth a shot.
