Sounds like your system is not recognizing your hard drive, you could have a non system CD, so take that out....
Some ssytems hiccup and need the bios set, you want to look for boot order and see your drive there.
If your drive is not recognized, you may be having drive issues at which point you MUST consider data recovery to another drive before you proceed.
