Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. PF means power failure and it seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. If that is fine then the issue is with the Control going bad and should be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Why does kenmore dryer model 417.8804277 keep beeping when not in use?

If you have the 417.88042700 dryer, this is often a symptom of a control panel failure. First though, try resetting the dryer. Unplug the unit (or flip the circuit breaker to off). After 30 seconds to one minute, plug the dryer back in. Press Cancel twice to clear the PF message. Try running a short cycle and see if the unit beeps after the cycle is over.

Also check if you are getting brief power failures. Really short ones might cause beeping without the PF message on the display.

If neither of the above explain the issue, you probably need to check the control board or wiring for a short. A replacement control board is available here: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b6p8/Kenmore-Dryer-Main-Control-Board/137008010/1472768?modelNumber=417.88042700 .

I hope this helps.

Kenmore Elite Oasis Electric Dryer - no power (PF code)

Press and hold the "Start" button to restart the dryer cycle if the "PF" (power failure) error code appears. This code often appears when a cycle is interrupted before it completes. You may also check the breaker or household fuse, and ensure the machine has not come unplugged.

Have kenmore 61951 dryer PF comes on go thru the steps it turns on and then shuts off what could be the problem

PF is a power failure error meaning electricity has been interrupted to the machine. Any electrical interruption to the machine such as a circuit breaker being reset or weather related power outage can cause a PF error code. Try resetting the appliance by disconnecting it from the outlet or switching off the circuit breaker for 20-30 minutes, then restore the power. If the reset doesn't work I suspect the control board has failed.

We just replaced the power cord and outlet for a Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer and now it will not go on. I flipped the circuit breaker on and it said PF and now I get nothing.

PF error = Power Failure - error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle. Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

Here is a site to double check the wiring:

Power Failure without tripping breaker

Sounds like an overheat code tripped due to obstruction in the exhaust. There is also a vent tube on the bottom of the dryer that could be loose.

PF means Power Failure. Check the breaker in your breaker box. The dryer uses 2 breakers that are put together. Reset the breakers to see if the problem gets fixed.

The dryer runs for a couple seconds and then give a PF code which I think means power Failure. brand Frigidaire

that is a power failure code. check the main cisuit breaker and the cord to the dryer and make sure the connections are tight.unplug the unit for a few minutes and plug it back in this should clear the pf code out.

Kenmore 67082 "PF" power failure code

Check your circuit breaker. Reset it even if it doesn't look tripped. It is a dual switch and sometimes you can't tell if one of them is tripped. Then try it. When you reset the breakers leave them off for about 10 minutes before turning them back on.
