Question about HP Photosmart C6380 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My 84 year-old mother has an Officejet 6300 printer. She is too old to figure out tech support, so she as asked me to write you. Recently, one of her cartridges was shown as empty. I instructed her to replace one of the ink jet cartridges with an official HP replacement cartridge purchased from Staples. I was very clear about this, and she came home with the proper cartridge. However, the printer still shows the replacement cartridge as empty, even though it is a new cartridge. This is the first time she has replaced this cartridge, and this printer has never seen any third party cartridges, nor have the cartridges ever been refilled. She has lost the receipt, so going back to staples for a replacement. Is there a way to disable the alert, so she can go about printing? I have cleaned the contacts on the printer and the cartridge, reseated the cartridge, and power cycled the printer as well. Some internet suggestions include re-installing the drivers, but I don't see how that will help as the error is on the printer. Also, some inkjet printers have a software switch to allow this warning to be disabled. What is your suggestion?

You need to remove the cartridges, remove the print head (it might drip ink on you so be prepared), thoroughly clean and dry the electrical contacts on the print head, and return the print head then the cartridges to the machine. This has worked for us before.

Yes, I printed a gear made from stronger plastic and it works great! Let me know if you want one. Not sure what to charge yet....

Scanner won't work

did you try the copier function?if you can copy documents then the scanner is good,well if it wont works you cant print neither..but as you said you get a print out.reinstall it carefully and slowly..the logic board has no problem,just focus on the driver..

printer is offline yet cables are connected and printer was working a day or so ago!

All printed matter comes out backwards.

Turn off mirror printing:
R-Click on printer
Properties --> Printer Preferences --> Advanced -->
+Printer Features - Mirror Image: OFF

Cannot get installation disk to open on hp officejet 6300 2000,xp cd version 7.0.5.

Here is a page with all of the software to download for your printer on Windows XP. You are also given the option to order a new CD if you prefer to do it that way.. I would recommend just downloading the driver as chances are the CD will not be free! Best of Luck
