SOURCE: Air conditioner fan will not come on and unit will run for 1 minute and stop

You hear the compressor kick in (Hum) but no fan comes on? Will the fan come on when just in fan mode, not cool, or do you have that set-up?

SOURCE: My home's Air Conditioner shuts off and on until reach temperatur

You have some issues that probably need to be addressed by a Certified Tech asap. There's an off chance that it could be just thermostat related. If you feel confident on doing what I'm about to instruct go ahead and try it.If you turn off electricity to your unit(should be marked as A|C or furnace or the like if you have the unit on and turn off at the panel it's easier to locate) you can take the cover off your thermostat and you will find various wires. Unscrew the R, Y, and G wires(if they;re not colored red yellow green make a diagram as to which goes where) and twist them together, Then turn electric back onto unit. If the unit runs normally as it should, then you have a thermostat problem and need to get a new one right away. Remember you unit is worth $2,000 to $6000 don't let and electrical malfunction compromise the value, if it.s not the thermostat get someone qualified to look at it. Leave it off til they get there. Good Luck

E1 error code displays when unit is plugged in I have a wall unit with about 10,000 BTU capacity. Two days ago, it quit working and displayed the E1 error code. I unplugged the unit, let it sit for 10...

highly annoying issue error code E1. After hours
of fan operation, the error code E1 will appear on the seven segment
LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for
the user to clean the air filter. However, because the procedure
outlined in the user manual does not clear this error code as
indicated, and the appliance has a nonvolatile memory that cannot be
reset by simply unplugging it, the user of the appliance will become
mightily frustrated, standing in potentially sweltering heat watching
the appliance repeatedly shut down in the midst of operation with the
"E1" display flashing.

Believe it or not, that is what it does: if you unplug it to remove the
"E1" code from the display, and plug it back in and re-start it, it
will simply run for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and
then merrily shut down again with the same flashing "E1" code.

So you will come home to a hot bedroom, living room, etc. unexpectedly,
and you will NOT be amused, as I was not.

Many people at this point, having put the manual under the canary or
some such, will simply return the unit and never buy another Sharp air
conditioner. But for the tech-savvy and search-adept, I offer the
following procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, and obtain

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

Error F8 on a Frigidaire AC model FASE24C6****

Good Afternoon Konrad,

I understand that you are receiving an F8 error code on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FASE24C6. I also see that it will work for hours before displaying F8 or sometimes only minutes before displaying the error code. The F8 tells me that there might be a key stuck. I suggest resetting your air conditioner, by unplugging it for 3-5 minutes. Plug your appliance back in and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Edgestar 12,000 portale air conditioner and heater

There are 3 possibilities beginning with the most likely problem

1) If your heater heats up for a few minutes and then quits, chances are there is a blockage in the air flow, check for dust and grime blocking the air intake coarse filter , airgun blow to clear accumulated dust and otherwise clean the coarse filter .
2) If the heater fan blows but there is no warm air, the heating element needs renewal ( this happens very rarely)
3)If the fan stalls and the heater heats up and the thermostat kicks in, then this will be not be a DIY job. This is least likely as you said the air cooler works.
