I already wrote disc but how to overwrite a disc

On a CD-R, if you don't finalize or write protect the disk, can you overwrite a file?

Or in overwriting are you simply creating a second file of the same name in the TOC/directory and deleting the name, only, of the first file

You can add more data if there is space on the DVD+R, but you can't overwrite it.

You see, when a disc is burned, little microscopic ridges are put onto the disc. This is your data.

You cannot overwrite this data.

It's kind of like trying to use a permanent marker on the same spot of paper twice.

You must close the session to read this disc in a different computer. Highly compatible with most computers and devices.

Tip

Using CCleaner to speed up slow Computers

Computers have 2 main types of memory that the user has control over. Memory that is on a Hard disc Drive and memory that is in RAM. When a program runs it loads its data from the Hard Disc Drive into Ram. Now, usually we have lots of extra Hard Disc Drive space but not necessarily Ram and if your computer is sluggish reducing the programs running at any time may greatly boost performance.

Now when you install a program a lot of the times it adds itself to startup meaning every time your computer is turned on that program starts. Now you may only use that program once a week but its continuously running wasting resources. Managing your startup programs with a free program called **** Cleaner can greatly increase performance.

download CCleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner and install it

run the program and select the tools tab on the left of its windows

next click on start-up

you will see a list of entries under start-up now technically you don't need any of these running for windows to work, however you may want say windows live messenger running in the background the whole time so pick and choose which ones you wish to disable from start-up.

I personally like to disable and remove every start-up program. I only like programs running when I tell them to run, and not wasting resources.

cheers

djbr1ck

I have lost my installation Disc for my Lumix DMC Zr1 - how can I dowload another one?

You don't really need it. Pros never use the camera to computer connection for downloading pics. They use a card reader and download to a folder they create on the desktop. Once there, the pics can be sent to any program you want.

My disks are DVD-RW and want tp use them over gain and don't know how. Also when do I finalise then and what for

For RW discs, you need to reformat them to reuse them. For your laptop, you should see a format option if you right click on the DVD icon when you have the File Explorer open to Computer (My Computer). (This assumes that the computer has a DVD writer.)

Finalizing the disc enables the contents of the disc to be read on other DVD players. (This isn't always an issue. For example, a disc burned with WinXP should be readable for a computer with Windows 7 without finalizing. However, if the disc was burned by a DVD player, the contents will not be accessible on any other units without being finalized.)

If the disc has been finalized, you need to take another step before reformatting the RW disc. Put the disc in the unit that initially finalized it. Then look for an Unfinalize option. Then format the disc again. (I've never used this feature on my computer. It's easily accessed on my DVD recorder in the same section of the submenu as finalizing the disc.)

I hope this helps.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X1270 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.
For the Lexmark OCR scan software, it is only available on the Lexmark installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Can I add a webcam to my computer and do I need a mic?

Yes, you should be able to add a webcam. If your computer is running XP or later, you can find cameras almost anywhere. For Mac machines the selection is more limited, but Mac-compatible cameras are available. Cameras typically have a microphone built in, so you don't need a separate one. You don't actually need a microphone at all to use a camera, but if you want to use programs like Skype or do video chatting, you need one for the sound. The webcam will come with a disc containing the necessary drivers and installation program, so getting it working is usually not a difficult job.

I can not load rainbow six3 raven shield on my pc it has 3 disc what do I do. Big Bytes-www.red-ant.com.au

First you need to place the disc labelled "Disc 1" or "Install" into your DVD drive on your PC. Then, double click My Computer (Start Menu, Computer if using Windows 7), right click on the DVD drive (it will probably says Rainbow Six: Raven Shield) then click "Autoplay". This should then start the installation. Continue through the installation as you would any other program, then change discs when prompted. Simple! Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate my reply!

I lost the disc for the powershot SD1100 IS

You don't need a driver or any specialized software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said earlier, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I can not get my Lexmark x1150 to install with my newly purchased Gateway windows 7 computer. What do I need to do?

Use a USB cable to hook the printer to the computer. Then insert the printer disc, driver, into the computer and download the program. If you can not locate the computer disc for your printer you can download it for free. Just google Lexmark x1150 driver and download it.

I just got a printer but i don´t know how to install can you help me

First get the printer ready to hook up but do not hook it up. Second boot up your computer and insert the disc that came with the printer, once the disc is in it will pop up a window, something in the window will say something about setup or install, click on that and follow the step by step installation instructions, at a halfway point through this couple of minute installation, the installation will ask you to hook up the printer, which you should do, and finish the installation, then reboot the computer and you should be ok to take out the disc and finish.
