Question about Cycling

Occasional, unexpected LOUD metalic "snap-snap-snap" as if something metallic is hitting the fan inside. Can feel it in left handlebar when it happens. Happens every 20 mins. or so and seems to come out of nowhere, but is very loud.

This is a Schwinn Airdyne exercise cycle, I wonder if you had gotten this additional info. I'll try your possible solution, have a mechanic coming over this evening. Noise is definitely coming internally, so wouldn't know what to spray on externally. A small noise comes from pedal/rear area before this loud snapping coming from forward happens. THANK YOU!!

Had mechanic come by last night. He said if it had been a bearing, it would have been more than occasional, intermittent noise. More like a jack-hammer and more continuous. He discovered the chain was loose. Lubed, tightened chain, doublechecked that spokes were not loose too, and this has fixed the problem.

As per the noise it indicates towards the bearing. When the bearing goes dried up or rusted or out of its alignment then it will make such noise. The bearing has to be lubed a bit with grease/oily material and let it remain their for few minutes then check out.You can also spray wd-40 from where the noise is coming, let it remain for few minutes then recheck. If the noise comes again, please keep updated. Also give more details about the brand and exact model if any part required, then exact detail can be provided in that case.

Thanks. keep updated for any more can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Its unlikely to be associated with the tuntable motor. Units are tuned to prevent arching. Therefore it appears something may have changed inside the unit. Be sure there are no loose items or bits of foil or other mateallic items inside. Also check metal turntable.

The handle of my quinny buzz has jammed with one side higher then the other. the button to adjust it doesn't seem to be working any more. Help! Is there anything I can do to get the handle to move?

Your handlebar adjustment button has snapped inside and will need replacing. Dorel UK 01842 763 281 (Mon – Fri, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) are the sole suppliers of parts for Quinny and can send you the part. It's a bit fiddly to fit though. In the meantime, on the underside of the handlebars, down either side are a row of holes with a small metal peg sticking out of one either side. These pegs are what the grey button retracts to make the bar slide up and down. You can push these pegs in manually with something like a key, and move the handlebar up and down. A bit tedious as you have to do one side at a time and 'wiggle' the handlebar up or down.
