Hi,
Yes, you can use only DDR1 memory. If you have a CPU with FSB at 800 MHz, it will run at 400Mhz (in case of a PC3200 module), with FSB at 533Mhz it will run at 333MHz.

u can use the 1gb ddr1 ram,if the sound is coming then may there is two problem

1.may be the ram is damage

2.your motherboard is not supporting 333mhz bus support

try to find 400mhz ram instead of 333mhz

Upgrade ram

hiya

this board is ddr so you will need ddr400 or pc3200 and a maximum capacity of 2gb so be carefull with 1 gb sticks as sometimes this causes system crashes

RAM

check your previous memory if its dd1, ddr2 or dd3 and check also your motherboard's manual for this. be sure that you add the same specs of memory otherwise remove your previous memory.

Memory Upgrade

ask for ddr1 ram of 1 gb.also take your old ram which is at present in your pc to match the locks with the new ram.
it will cost u near to 50$.
