Hello- You can put the filter in the dishwasher. The trough can be difficult to clean, I would use something that's not too sudsy, like Citra Solv or any degreaser. Just use a sponge or rag. If there is a lot of build-up you can scrape-up the grease with a plastic putty knife. Once it is clean just turn the vent on to dry it so any water left over will not cause the pan to rust. Hope this helps, best regards.

Can't turn on KECC508 cooktop I didn't buy it and it is in the house and the light in the middle to power all burners off is lit.

The middle light is the lock. You must hold it down for at least 7 seconds to unlock it, then the middle light will go off. Your hands can't be wet, or none of the buttons on mine work right.

Pilot on middle front burner does not light because it is not getting gas. I've cleaned the pilot gas port, but to no avail.

Hi, try following the pilot tube back away from the burner. You should be able to see a small screw used to adjust the pilot gas to that burner alone.Sounds like it is almost shut off. Turn it CCw to open it and set the how high you want it if this is a standing pilot. You should get the gas flow you need. I'm sure this is the problem. Best of Luck,

Have a kitchenaid gas cook top with the flat cooking surface in the middle for griddling. But its all dark brown and discolored especially around the back. I cant see to get it clean or get the brown...

A few cycles in the dishwasher may help. Oven cleaner on the surfaces (pre warmed if possible). Please do NOT use anything abrasive (no metal scrubs, no steel wool, etc.). Ceramic surface cleaner (Ceramibright?) can be used safely.

The electronic ignitors on my cooktop won't shut off. what's up?

1) Clean your ignitors & Burner with a dry cloth and see if it works.
2) You need to have proper Ground in your electirc connection. If there is no/ Poor ground than the unit will keep igniting even after the flame is developed.
if none of the above helps than check all the ignitor cable there may be a cut / leak in the cable causing spark / ignition in the middle of the cable where there is a cut.

On a gas 5 burner Jenn-Aire the middle largest burner suddenly will not spark or ignite,; it just clicks

The problem could be that there is a grease film the is prevnting the ignitor from sparking and the metal lid on the burner could be slightly off. Simply clean the burner with a non greasy cleaner and make sure the burner lid is on properly.

Viking stove ignitor

the continues to click problem, for e it was only when my smaller burner was lit. theo others were ok. When I took the burner apart it was very dirty. I cleaned it up (a wire brush in my drill press) and it works fine now. I think it was just bad electrical conduction.

Two burners wont ignite

Sounds like the electric sending unit for the right burners is not working. Do you hear the cliking noise on the right side when you turn the knob to LITE? If not then you need to replace the electric sending unit, they are located under the knobs, they are a smal square box that goes on the switch valve rod, they have tow wires on the side, just unplug and lift, and look for greasse or anything that might interrup contact, you might be able to use the same ones, or just replace with new ones....Good Luck

Gaggenau gas rings

The heat has caused it to be stiff. Just apply steady pressure and it will lift off. Gaggenau is real good about making sure that if a part is screwed down that you can find the screw.
