I am trying to convert a Windows Media Video File to an mp4 using the Cucusoft Video Converter Ultimate. However when I start the conversion I keep getting an error that say?s: ?Install DataExtractor...

See whether another converter program can convert the file to verify whether the WMV file is corrupt or not.

I suggest using MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/) to convert the file. MPEG Streamclip is free, but the installation process takes a little more time.

Please try downloading and installing MPEG Streamclip and see whether that has a problem converting the file. If it does, then you know that it's a WMV file corruption issue; otherwise, it's a Cucusoft issue and you'll need to report it to them.

The window media player cannot open the file because it is either corrupt or does not support the format you are trying to play. can you help me ti fix to fix this problem

Hi. I think the problem on this issue is that the file that you're trying to play is not supported my your Windows Media Player. You can solve this problem by downloading updates for your media player or the codec packs like K-Lite. Also you can just download another media player like VLC Player, you can download this into google, just type in VLC Player and download and install it on your computer. This VLC players supports almost all video or audio file extension. Goodluck!

I WANT TO DOWNLOAD A CONVERTER WHICH CAN CONVERT FLV FILE TO WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER FILE HOW I CAN

You can download "Total Video Converter" to convert your .flv tiles to .wmv files. It's available at: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Video_and_Animation_Tools/Total_Video_Converter.html

Also, you can use VLC player that can run mostly all kind of video files without needing to convert them. VLC can run .flv and .wmv files without any problem and it's available at:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Thanks. Hope this will help. If you still face any problem, please get back.
