Model 5861 has worldwide voltage capability and can be charged from 100-240V without requiring a voltage converter. If your shaver cord has an American plug, you will need a simple adapter to fit European wall outlets. You will find this item at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

My norelco electric shaver model 4401 LC stop working after a trip to Portugal. I am not sure if I plugged it on 220V or 120V. Can It be fixed?

Model 4401LC can not be used with 220V. If you used it with 220V without a step-down voltage converter, you have damaged the circuit board. It will not be economical to repair.

If you want to replace the shaver with a similar new model, see shaveroutlet.com at the link below

Battery appears to be dead.. Plugged it in and no power.. completely dead and no way to recharge battery. Unsure if cord is bad or if its battery only. Norelco shaver 5885 XL model.

It is very unlikely that the cord is bad unless it has been severely stressed. Most likely, the problem is the battery but it is impossible for me to say for sure.
You will find the correct replacement battery pack for model 5885XL at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

I bought my Norelco 4821XL shaver in usa--can I recharge from 220v mains or do I need to use the shaver outlet/transfromer?

From the Service Manual: "The HQ4821 shaver can be recharged in 8 hours by means of a ’Fly Back Self Oscillating Power supply’. This electronic circuit enables the battery to be charged at 100-240V, 50/60Hz."

In other words, it's got worldwide voltage. Hotel rooms should have a power point you can plug it into. Otherwise you'll just need a simple travel adaptor.

Norelco Quadra Action 7866XL suddenly quit working any ideas

It sounds like the rechargeable batteries in your shaver have degraded to the point that they can no longer be recharged, and as such, you shaver won't run, even with the power cord connected and plugged in.

To get the shaver working like new again, you need to replace the batteries or have it done for you. If you have the tools to desolder and resolder the rechargeable batteries, and can disassemble the shaver, you could do this yourself. However, most people find that having the shaver serviced for them is preferrable, since there could be a chance of damaging the shaver when taking it apart, etc.

If you wish to get an estimate for having the batteries replaced for you, contact www.electricshaver.com or you can call them at 1-888-476-1785

They are an authorized service and repair center for most major brands of electric shavers and typically get the repairs done in about a week, once they receive the shaver. They also sell most common replacement cutter blocks and foil screens for shavers, in case you need new ones now or in the future.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
