First check your aerial. If other devices such as PVRs or other TVs can receive a signal then the Sense 51-19 should be OK also
Turn on the TV. Press the "TV/.AV" button until the letters "DVB" (Digital Video Broadcast) appear on top right of screen. Wait until patterned blue screen is displayed and the message "No Signal" is shown. Press "SYS MENU" 3 times "General Menu" should be displayed with Language option in highlight. Press the "CH+" button once to move the highlight to the "Reset" option.
Press the "TV/TXT-DVB MENU" (this has the letters "SET" engraved on the button itself.
The TV will mute and a sub-menu will be displayed in the top left of screen.
Use the "CH+" or "CH-" to scroll to the desired option.
It seems that you have mail. Assuming you have comcast (or cable in general).
If this is the case then you can do the following...
Press the Menu/Setting button twice.
Scroll down that menu until you see a Messages option and press OK.
There you can read the messages and clear them out.
Then you should be free of the light and the 'letter' icon.
check that all of your cables are plugged in correctly and that the input is set to to correct cables on the remote there is a button that should say input press that a menu will appear and then you can scroll through your input options keep trying until one works
there is also usually a button on the tv that does the same thing
The most common cause of the problem is a stuck/shorted button
either on the television or on the remote. The worst case scenario is a faulty key control board. Remove the remote control
battery or put it away from the television. Press the menu button on
the television and check if the menu scrolls by itself. If yes, the
DOWN button is stuck or shorted. You can actually hear or feel it click when pressed if it is not stuck.
Open the back of the television to gain access to the key control board. You can either repair/replace the faulty button or replace the key control board. Remove the screw holding it to the television casing. Disconnect the old board and install the new one.
Replace the remote control if the buttons on the television control are working properly.
I had a similar problem and the way to solve this is to reset the set from the remote. Set TV to standby and press Info, menu, mute then power. The set should turn on with the service menu available scroll down until you select reset press right hand arrow next to enter and then enter. TV will turn off. When switched on it goes into Plug and Play mode to reset the analogue and digital tuner. Allow a full reset then you should be ok. Peter
