RCA model M4304 will not turn on, but indicates that battery is full..

I can see no way to access the battery. The top will no slide off, and there are no screws. Have another idea? Or maybe you know how I can get to the battery?

I appreciate you answering quickly, though.

Because the screen does not indicate if the unit is on or off, how can I get it to discharge? The only things it says are USB transferring, USB connected, or battery full. How long does it take one of these to discharge, assuming I have the unit turned on?

I hope not; it's only a couple of weeks old!

I appreciate all your help.. I will get it fixed. Thankx again.

It indicates that the player is fine but the power on switch is faulty. Please have it replaced.

Thats the problem with players... everything is concealed. This issue came across me sometime last week and the cure was just turning the unit on and off several times. The second option is let the battery drain itself, recharge it, turn it on and see how it goes.

Since its not running anything this may take sometime to discharge. Give it atleast 48hrs. If it still doesn't work then the unit itself may have reached it's break point already.

If thats the case, it is surely covered with warranty and you may ask for replacement from the supplier.

I have an RCA mp3 player M4304 and the battery says full, but it shuts down and reads "low battery" after 10 minutes. Can the battery be changed? If so, how?

If the MP3 player battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Okaay , so my mp3 just stop working it dosent turn all at all I was recording a song on the radio which you can do with my rca m4304-A mp3 can do and i have to press the power button so it can stop...

Hello,

When the M4304 keeps shutting off all the time, you did well by trying to charge the player: 3 hours of charging the battery, with the player connected to a running computer, should be long enough to charge to full capacity.
1. Check the HOLD switch ( ) on the rear: move the switch away from the padlock sign.
2. RESET the player: hold the Menu button ( ) for more than 10 seconds.

672907e.jpg 3. If the player doesn't work normally after the RESET: perform a firmware UPDATE. For details, see next link:

The problem is that i can´t turning on mine ¨rca m4304-q¨ ´nd don´t know how make it work even with full batterie

As long as the computer enumerates the drive (you can see it in My Computer as a drive letter) then there is likely an issue with the firmware. Download the firmware install from the RCA website: http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5635

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the install.
Be sure to back up any important media before performing this install.

If your computer does not recognize it, press and hold the play button while connecting the device for upwards of 30 seconds. If that does not work then it is likely the player is unrecoverable.
