Question about Canon PIXMA iP1600 Printer
Was printing and the printing just stopped. tried to turn it on, but it doesn't.
checked the cables and they are properly plugged.
printer still does not turn's on
Solution: Disconnect and Reconnect AC power adapter or power cord to the device and electrical source
Secure all Power Connections

1. Browse to
Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the
print spooler service)
2. Browse to your
windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in
.SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
3. Browse to
Start -> Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart
the print spooler service)
4. Double click
the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your
print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.
Try to print again.
If problem continues, disconnect your printer USB cable from your computer. For Windows OS, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. Delete the Lexmark print object. Reboot pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect the USB cable into your computer. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection before sending a new print job.

According to your problem first check that you have installed the driver properly or reinstall the driver. Check the USB cable of the printer. Replace the cable. Turn the printer off before installing the driver. Turn it on again while the driver installation wizard will ask to connect the printer. After installation reboot the printer and system both.
