Click Control Panel
Click Device Manager
Check for YELLOW or RED marks, and/or for UNKNOWN DEVICES.
Having such marks indicate that the device-driver for your sound-card have not been installed.
Double-click the "problem" device, and click 'Install' (device-driver).
Allow it to connect to the Internet to search for a device-driver.
