Question about Toro Garden

1 Answer

Mower is 2 months old. First time I used it it started right up. Now, I have to go throuhg all kinds of gyrations to get the thing to fire up (having to move the mower around, push the handle up and down, almost like it is trying to 'slosh' the gas around before I can get it to go. I have spent 10 minutes trying to get it to start.

I have a Worx 14" mower. I just bought a new battery and it still won't start. Any suggestions?

ive been getting more of these electric mowers here for me to fix in the past few months now , ive gotta do a video on u tube on how to care 4 them , but enough of my rant , on to your question , ive seen this happen a few times folks don't order a spare battery right from the start with these things and buy one like a year or more later , what happens is over time of charge/use/charge old battery's heat up some , plastic holders become distorted a bit and when a new battery is installed it don't fit "just right" and hence the contacts are not making up right , what ive had to do is a bit unconventional but take battery out and use a hair dryer to soften up plastic in spots that hit new battery and bend them softly away . makes new battery fit correctly and contacts make up right , I think the fix for this is not to charge battery inside mower but take it out ,but on some that's not allways an option . ohh and allways ck safety switches there the same as a real gas mower

make sure your getting the three main things, 1. fuel 2. air 3. fire. if your getting those then something as simple as cleaning the carb/throttle body or new fuel or a new air filter

Model 944.361200.mower won,t start in colder weather, once temp gets above the70degree mark it will start, but blue smoke comes form exaust.mower will start right away every time once engine is hot.fresh gas...

I have a mower with a Honda 165cc engine that is temperamental as far as the initial start up is concerned.
Once it has started it always fires up first pull
The problem seems to be the gas is slow to reach the carb / cylinder
I have developed a ritual for starting up.
Open the gas tap.
Lean the mower back until the hand bar touches the ground.
Raise the mower and lift the hand bar so the back wheels are off the ground for a few seconds.
Fully open the throttle, Hold the ignition control back and operate the pull cord.
If it doesn't start first time I am usually rewarded with a promising fire-up.
Sounds wacky but works for me and used to spend 20 to pulls on the cord to get it to fire .

Won't start. Drained old fuel and added fresh; cleaned in-tank fuel filter; cleaned plug. Still won't start

i would take the plug out and and the spark plug wire on the plug and try cranking it over and make the plug is firing if there is no fire then the ignition coil is dead but if you have fire then its a carb problem rarely ever a timing considering most mowers are timed with key ways which prevent them from jumping time.but if you have fire your good their but my overall suggestion is to rebuild the carb and swap out the spark plug if the mower has set for a period of 6 months or longer.

Our Toro, guaranteed to start, won't start. We can cut awhile, then it will not restart. Plug is fine, getting a spark, and not at all wet, can't seem to find the problem. This doesn't...

I have the same problem. One time this happened and it restarted after a few hours and worked fine for 5 more cuts over a couple of months time. Now again it quit mid cut of my yard and would not restart. When trying to start it would fire for a few seconds and than shut off again. I wated a week to try it again and now it does nto fire at all. This is about a year old mower with only about 10-15 hours of total use.

I have a Poulan 450 push lawnmower, and it's only a month old, and I've only used it once before to cut my yard. It worked perfectly, and now three weeks later I added gas to the mower, and the oil level...

Remove spark plug,it may be fouled and have gas on it,clean it and then reinstall and try if that doesn't work, try a new one. Also check the air filter, may need cleaned or replaced.

Lawn mower does not start up

Lots of thing can stop a victa working!!!!!!!!!. Ok your plug is wet. Turn the fuel off. R&R tank renew fuel(no more than a month old it goes stale)Check for spark, be very careful it could catch a light.
Get the new plug open the gap to about the hex of the plug to the head, away from the plug hole ,the fuel will come out.
If it jumps gap when pulled it has enough spark to fire under load.If lots of fuel comes out its flooded.if so leave plug out remove a/f ,leave tap off, put throttle to full and pull till most fuel is gone.Refit plug and try. let me know how that goes. do this in well vented area. Fumes can build up in shed.
