When i try to turn on my dell latitude d610... the num lock flashes for a few seconds then shuts off... please help!!!

I just fixed a D610 belonging to a customer. Before when i press the power button the caps-lock led flasshes 10X then goes off again. I opened the memory compartment beneath the laptop and replaced the memory and this time the power came on but the screen has lines and the writings can't be seen so i opened the keyboard and there is another memory there too so i removed it and this time the pc came on well and booted. So this problem is from the memory. Anyone having a 10X-CAPS-lock flash should check and replace both memories.

When I turn the dell d610 caps lock led flashes and then goes off

Try reseating the RAM module(s) then see if the issue goes away. If no change, try them one at a time.

Problem with toshiba A135-S4527 ,MOTHERBOARD NOT INITIALIZING

Try this:
I left mine on, in its coma cond overnight. The next am I touched the enter key and it booted up! 5 days later it went back into is coma.
Yeah, Toshiba Laptops ****! My A135 S2246 is doing the same thing. You and I aren't alone either. Search for: "toshiba sucks" and you'll see how many there are, lots of them. 1 week after warranty expires it started doing exactly what yours is doing. I swapped out ram with known good ones, HDD also, I connected external monitor, keyboard, nothing changed. I re-seated the CPU, temp disconn cmos batt -no help.
Cleaned all the connectors & grounds, no help.
Observations:
Fan runs on & off, I feel heat being pushed out.
Can hear Hdd spinning, indicator led briefly flashes when I first turn on.
Fn indicator led will illuminate, sometimes.
caps lock led -not at all.
numeric keypad led, no.
the only key that seems to do anything is Fn.
Toshiba wanted $35. just to discuss it over the phone. -WRONG!

Its now two years old and about as useful as a milk bucket under a bull!

Dell latitude D600 problem

The flashing caps lock is an indication of a failed POWER on Self-Test (POST)

Remove the HDD, Battery, AC adapter, RAM and Modem

Press and hold power button for 15 seconds

Connect AC, see if you get any beep codes. If you do, power off, disconnect power, insert RAM, connect AC and reboot. If system boots, power off and add hard drive. If it doesn't, replace the motherboard.

If the system boots with RAM, but fails to boot with HDD, replace HDD 1st.
