Updating .net framework

The Microsoft .NET framework, sometimes called dotnet, is a collection of software libraries and assemblies installed on the Windows operating system.
Software languages that are .NET compatible will take programmer code and construct it into a language, called bytecode, which the .NET framework is able to load and utilize.
You will need to update your .NET framework if the application you want to use was built with a more recent edition.

Open your web browser and visit the .NET framework downloads page on the Microsoft website (See "Below").
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx
Click "Install It Now" and click "Download" to obtain the framework installer.
Save the file to your desktop, then double-click it to open the installation.

Review the software license at the top of the page, then place a check mark next to "I Have Read and Accept the License Terms." Click "Install" to proceed.
Click "Finish" when the "Installation Is Complete" window appears.
You have now updated the .NET framework.

Hi

There are two things I need to know before I can solve the problem.

1. what windows is installed on the computer? Is it windows 2000, windows xp, windows vista, windows 7 or something else?

2. do you know if the windows is 64bit version? If you don't know, do you know how much RAM memory does the computer have? less than 4GB? more than 4GB?

To find out which version it is 32 or 64 hold down the windows key and press r, in the run menu that comes up write msinfo32 and click OK

Now on the system information page that opens, on the right of the window find system type
ekse_26.jpg

Tell me what it says there if you don't know if the computer has 64bit or 32bit windows installed.

Hi,

Download .net framework offline from the link below and try to install it first and then try to install the game.

To download .net framework 1.1

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

In case if the game or .net framework doesnt install properly then use the .net cleanup utility and clean all the installed .net framework versions.

Download the .net cleanup utility from the link below:

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/NET-Framework-Cleanup-Tool-Download-116561.html

Click on
Softpedia Secure Download (US) [ZIP]

once all the cleanup is done try installing the game again.

Problem installing lifecam 2.04

just had the same problem read in another forum that you have to uninstall the net framework 2.0. (see below) which I found to complicated ...I just plugged the camera in - and at least with Skype it works ....

I found this link helpful:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100/en-us
Try and use method one to uninstall your .net framework software. Method one
did not work for me, I kept getting issues with removing both 2.0 and 3.0.
I then used method 2 which entails following another link and downloading a
.net framework cleanup tool. I ran the program to cleanup ALL .Net versions.
Then I went back to Microsoft Downloads and downloaded .net framework 1.1,
2.0 and 3.5 (not 3.0 - for some reason 3.0 would not download and created
issues).
Once these .Net Framework downloads were installed I downloaded and
installed LifeCam 2.04 software and my kid was up and running in 10 minutes.
It took me over a week to get this issue resolved.
One more thing, when you are downloading and installing your .net framework
files you need to make sure you download in the proper sequence. Also, for
some reason I encountered printer issues the first time through this. The
second time I just unplugged my printer untill all downloads were installed
and I did a computer restart and the printer issue went away.

HP colour laserjet 1600 not recognised by USB port

I believe the problem is related to microsoft .NET Framework. I have researched and there are many posts of incompatibility between .NET Framework and many printers not just 1600. My 1600 stopped working and I traced the problem to upgrade to .NET Framework 3.5 I uninstalled 1600, then uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 (and 3.0 as well for good measure), reinstalled 1600 and it is working fine now again. You can uninstall .NET versions using Add/Remove programs on the Control Panel. To avoid re-updating, I also turned off Windows automatic updates. I left .NET Framework 2.0. No problems with other programs but the computer did have trouble rebooting the very first time after I uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.0. Unknown if that was related to the uninstall or a completely unrelated problem. Anyway if you want to try something less drastic than removing .NET versions, check out this Microsoft link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961118
refers to a printer fix related to .NET. In my experience, the Microsoft fixes never work but you are welcome to try before uninstalling .NET Framework versions.

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

You cannot install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 because the NET Framework 2 is already installed. The NET Framework 2 is the latest version of Microsoft NET Framework. I think you can remove the latest Framework in the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. Then restart your computer and install the old version. But my advice is, just let the latest NET Framework remain and don't uninstall it.
