Re: dont know how to work ipod(erasing and downloaing).
You bought an Ipod Touch. To download things to your ipod, install a software called iTunes on your computer. Go to the iTunes store and find somthing you like. Purchase it for a small fee with an iTunes gift card. It will be downloaded to iTunes. To erase something, uncheck the box to the left of it, or right click and press delete. When you sync your ipod by plugging it into your computer, things will be on there for you to enjoy.

The fourth generation iPod is identified as the iPod with the click wheel and color display, and also known as the iPod Photo. All models of the iPod 4G include the click wheel and full color display, making it easy to view album artwork and photos. Subsequent versions of the iPod also have video capabilities. If you are having trouble with your iPod 4G, there is a series of steps you can follow to try to fix the problem. Start by resetting the iPod (see Below). http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/photo/ If this doesn't do the trick, you may need to restore the iPod, which replaces potentially corrupt software components. Doing so will erase all the iPod's files, so you should make sure you have your files backed up in the iTunes Library.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes. Open the program. Connect your iPod to your computer using a USB cord. Select your iPod from the device list in iTunes once it appears. Click "Restore" on the "Summary" tab of the main screen. iTunes will prompt you to select from one or more restore options. Choose how you want to restore the iPod. The first part of the restore will begin. You'll see a progress bar on the screen. Leave the iPod connected to finish the restore, as iTunes prompts you to do. The iPod will now show an Apple logo and progress bar on its screen. Follow the prompts of the iTunes Setup Assistant when it appears onscreen. Enter a name for the iPod. Choose your syncing preferences. Reload your iPod files from the iTunes Library.
The display can be replaced at any Apple store. Do not worry about the information that you have thrown away. Apple will be able to pull all of the info that they need by either connecting the device or using the serial number on the back of the ipod touch.
You can find a cheap usp cord on Ebay.
To unlock the Ipod do the following:
According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize. Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."

You need to reset you Ipod to factory default. This will erase everything on the unit but since you just bought it that should not be an issue.
Make sure that the ipod is not connected to your computer yet. but Itunes is running. 1. Power Off the Ipod by holding down the power button for about 5 seconds then sliding the power off. 2. Press and hold the Home button and plug the Ipod back into the computer. Keep holding the home button until you get past the apple logo. You should then be prompted to go into recovery mode on your ipod.
Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
If that doesn't work, turn off iPod touch and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't work, reset iPod touch. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If iPod touch continues to freeze or not respond after you reset it
Reset iPod touch settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but your data and media are left untouched.
If that doesn't work, erase all content on iPod touch. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings." All your preferences are reset, and all your data and media are removed from iPod touch.
To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
Download itunes from www.apple.com\itunes.
Connect the player to itunes and then either select each song and delete it or goto summary tab and click restore. It will downloas ~240MB firmware and restore your ipod to default factory settings.
