Media Player won't read storage card library

Windows Media Player 10.1 on my iPAQ hx2490b won't recognise the library on my storage card. In addition, WMP11 on my PC won't sync to the card while it's in my iPAQ, only when it's in the PC's card reader.ThanksLiz

I gave up and bought ($23) Conduit's Pocket Player which has no problem seeing and reading my MMC card which I sync to from Media Player on my PC through the PC's card reader. Job done!

When burning a cd im getting this error code error C00D10BA how do I fix it?

Windows Media Player error C00D10BA Windows Media Player can't find the file. This error message usually indicates that the link from an item in the Player Library to its associated digital media file is broken. Items in the Player Library are links to digital media files that are stored on your computer, a network drive, a removable storage card, an Internet server, or another location. Links can be broken for one of the following reasons:
  • A link to a temporary file from the Internet cache (for example, a file from the Temporary Internet Files folder) was added to the Player Library and that file was later deleted.
  • A link to a digital media file was added to the Player Library and the file was later deleted.

Just bought 4GB SD card that hx4700 does not recognise - help pse

Your slot in the iPAQ is a SD slot, not a SDHC slot - therefore it will not read the card. Your PC card is probably a dual reader. The SD cards look the same but are different. Have a read of this...

Trouble transfering songs into the player

The converter is for video files only. Use Windows Media Player for music files:
To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/wmp10/harrison_wmp10.mspx

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/sync.mspx

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0085.mspx#EDF

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library

4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder

5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete

6. Left-click the song once to highlight it

7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard

HP IPAQ POCKET PC

1st approach (Quick one!)

1. Soft reset your device
2. make a backup copy of the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA if exists.
3. delete the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA.
4. Soft reset your device once again.

2nd approach (Long one!)

If 1st approach did not work, restore the MSMETADATA folder and try the following:

Step Zero: BACKUP
- Make a full backup of your device (including storage cards). If you don't like to do a full backup keep at least a backup of all files and folders we are going to delete as indicated below:

Step One
-In the main device directory delete the file WMPInfo.xml
-Delete the \Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\ directory and all of
the files in it including the WMDRM folder.
-Delete the \Music folder

Step Two
-Go to your SD card main directory and delete the file WMPInfo.xml
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\MSMETADATA
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\WMDRM
-Delete the folder \SD-MMCard\Music

Step Three
-Repeat step two for any other storage cards.

Step Four
-Refresh devices in WMP and the storages card should show up in the left tab
and in the sync window you can click "Next Device"

Hope this helps...

Downloading pictures

With pictures, since they're large, it's desirable to copy them to your storage card. And since they're large, it's much easier to copy them to the card with a card reader, rather than ActiveSync. As or viewing them, IPaq Image Viewer can read almost all fornatc of docs.

Media player 9 on ipaq 2215

A hard reset will get it back for you, but you will lose your data. So either backup first, then restore it. Or sync to PC and back if it's just OUTLOOK data.
