First of all, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

No power to my hp mini

Hi,

I also have an HP and also had the same issue with a no power, go and remove the battery from the Laptop and try to connect the AC Adapter again and try to power on the Laptop if the Machine turns ON without the Battery in it then the issue can be 2 things it is either the battery is dead or the battery bay on your laptop need to be checked for repairs on the issue...

and the only people to got to best would be HP, also if you can try a known good battery that works and connect it to your Laptop to check if it will turn ON that may also work and if the Laptop does turn ON using a known good Battery then the issue is just the battery and nothing related to the battery bay on the lsptop, which makes thing easier since a new battery is easier to buy than having your laptop sent back to the manufacturer for repairs.

I hope that the issue is just the Battery.

Try a known good battery first before having someone open your Laptop :)

have a Good Day .

My acer aspire 5515 the battery died last night and it wont pick up charge it wont even come on to seek it what can I do?

the laptop will work with just adaptor plugged in and the battery removed

however your issue could be an issue the adaptor causing the battery to discharge as there is no charge getting to the laptops battery or it could be an internal issue with the motherboard

try just the adaptor if that works then replace the battery

hoping this will work

Everytime i try to use it turns to a black screen. How can i fix this?

1. Disconnect the ac adapter and remove the battery from the laptop.
2. press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3. replace the battery and connect the ac adapter.
4. turn on the laptop.

this should resolve the issue.

if the issue persists then remove and replace the memory modules of the laptop and check for the issue

if the issue persists, then it is a hardware issue and your laptop needs to be serviced.

My Acer Aspire 9805 battery was replaced. For

It could be an AC adaptor issue.

It should boot when connected directly to the power outlet through the laptop adaptor. If it is not boot, then the adaptor might not be supplying the needed power to boot it up.

If it is possible, try to isolate the issue. Charge your new battery using another laptop. Then plug it in your laptop to see if it works. If it will work, then it is the AC adaptor of your laptop that is defective. If the charged battery still won't make the laptop boot, then there is something wrong with your laptop hardware. If could be a motherboard issue of your laptop.

Battery won't charge

It can be a defective battery, return it and get another one if you can, if that not the problem then its a laptop internal issue. If its a laptop issue take it to a mom and pop computer shop to pin point problem. Can be several issues if its the laptop. Have to look at it .

Doesnt charge

This could most probably be a battery issue. To check if it is really a battery issue, remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter. If the computer powers up, then this is definitely a battery issue and you'll need to purchase a new battery or call your computer's manufacturer and ask them if they have battery exchange programs.
