TomToms have a tiny little reset button around the hole for the docking base: try pressing it with a toothpick or paper clip wire to perform a hardware reset.
You might want to press the power on button at the same time.

ps. if you have the charger connect, the charging indicator should still work: if not, try using the USB cable connect to a PC/Laptop instead.

Hope it solves your problem: let me know how you go.

Thanks for your help, but I had already tried reset but not connected to the USB still no go.
I have fitted a new battery after it failed to start as it did get rather hot.
I have a feeling it may have blown a transister or the like as it stopped loading rather fast.
    Thanks again

Thank you for coming back: I appreciate it.
The Li-Ion rechargeable battery has a regulator that may have shorted and allowed a high voltage to the motherboard - try to look for an overcook component or burnt track starting from where the battery leads are connected: good luck!

I don't think the door lights would be affected by the key switch.
It sounds like a bad connection at the battery or farther down the line. Maybe even a ground connection.

Quietsource 25kw Staring problem In auto mode or manual

Sounds like the you have no spark since when you force the engine to crank it never fires. The low battery light come on because the 2 sec of cranking lets the voltage get lower than the alarm threshold.
I'd connect a spark tester to either of the plugs and try a manual start, if you see sparks replace the plugs, if you get no sparks then you've got to troubleshoot the ignition modules and the kill wire that comes from them.

2002 Ford ZX2 electrical problem

Go to your nearest autozone and have your charging/staring system checked. If they find a problem with the alternator, that may explain your battery problems. If your think that one of your electrical systems may be pulling a "parasitic draw" or constant load, that is more complicated to diagnose. To diagnose a constant draw of your battery , you would need a ammeter connected inline with each circuit. Disconnect each fuse and connect a amp meter where the fuse would go, and record your resutls with the car off. The circuit with the most amperage is where I would start looking.

This is going to be a great opportunity to learn about your bike. Whenever I buy a bike, I always buy a service manual for that model. This doesnt sound too serious, but may require some time. My guess is a loose connection, These things happen now and then. I would just trouble shoot the whole electrical system, staring at the battery. Make sure the connections are all tight and clean, including the battery cables. Put your hands on em and see if they move, and torque em up. If you dont have one - get a charger as well, your gonna need it eventually anyway
