Question about Casio FX-115ES Scientific Calculator

The fx-115ES does not have a modulo operator. However, it is possible to compute the remainder using integer arithmetic. Press MODE 4 to shift into integer mode. Then calculate A modulo B as

A - B * (A / B). For example, to calculate 41 modulo 6, press

4 1 - 6 * ( 4 1 / 6 ) =

and get 5.

Press MODE 1 to return to real arithmetic.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. In mathematics, 'e' is a particular number called the base of the natural logarithm. Its approximate value can be displayed by a calculator by taking the exponential of 1. Since its value is 'known', what is there to solve for?

But if you want to calculate exponentials of numbers you press [2nd][LN](e^x) . The screen displays**e^(** . You enter a number, close the parenthesis and press [ENTER].

To raise a number to an arbitrary power you use the [^] key below [CLEAR]

7.5 to power 4 is entered as follows

7.5 [^]4 [ENTER] gives 3164.0625

Fifth root of 300 is enterd as 300[^](1/5) [ENTER]

If you raise a number to a negative power use the small minus sign (-)

157 to power of -3

157 [^][(-)]3 [ENTER] gives 2.584E-7 =2.584x10^(-7).

Use the sequence [2ndF][nPr] for permutations and [2ndF][nCr] for combinations.

Exemples: 10(nPr)3 is entered as 10[2ndF][nPr]3 [=] gives 720

5(nCr)2 is entered as 5 [2ndF][nCr] 2 [=] gives 10
