You have to open up your laptop remove the battery; remove the ram;and the hard disk locate where the the nvidia video card is...it is usually underneath the heat copper sink..so you have to unscrew the heat copper sink..the fan if it is attached.. then if you find it..try to clean first the surface of the nvidia chip..remove the paste over it..dont throw the gumlike paste it could still be used..
you heat up the nvidia chip..you can use hair dryer...for at least 3 minutes..dont melt it..just heat it up then...cool it down for 5 minutes..then return all you have taken out..then open it..
perhaps for the 1st attempt..it would not open..just close it up leave for one minute then press again the power then boom..its fix..
hope this can help you

You must, when using an external monitor, either press the relative 'F' key to switch the external signal on or boot with the external monitor plugged in to get it to work.

How do i fix the screen on a dell inspiron 1501

the LCD Display has been cracked, there is no way to fix this without replacing the LCD display which in some cases is as expensive as a new laptop. I'd suggest taking it to a screen repair professional and getting a quote on a replacement screen and compare that with the price of a new laptop.

When i turn on nothing display in the screen

Hi Assm_13,

When you turn it on, do you hear the windows start up sound, if you do, then the problem is with the connection to the screen. If you want to confim the screen problem, if you have access to a desktop monitor, connect the monitor to your PC, using the display cable, if you can see your pc on the desktop, then the pc is ok. Only problem is with the screen. Take it to any nearby repair shop, for them to check if the problem is with the connection or the screen needs to be replaced.

Hope that was helpful?
Have a nice day.

Screens not working

If the laptop gets turn on and if you are able to hear the windows start up tone then the display drivers may be corrupted. So connect the laptop to external monitor. If the display comes on the external monitor then you can perform the system restore.
It will get your display back to normal.

Please get back so I can provide you more steps to get the display back.

Screen on my compact laptop went black and I can only turn it on but have nothing but black

If the laptop comes on normally otherwise and is booting to Windows (you hear the normal startup sounds), look closely at the display and see if you can make out a faint image. It often helps to shine a flashlight on the display.

If the display is faint but present, you probably have a bad inverter board in the display. The inverter provides power for the display's backlight, and without the light the display still works but you can't see it. Inverter boards are available for most brands, they're not usually very expensive, and changing one isn't too difficult. A Web search for your brand and model and "replacement inverter" should turn up several sources. There are also YouTube videos showing how to replace the inverter in many kinds of laptops.

It's also possible the backlight itself is bad. If so, replacing the display is usually preferable to trying to replace the light. The light is built into the display and it's very difficult to replace without damaging the part or the display in the process. The display can be expensive, though.

If you're not sure that the computer is working, try starting it with an external monitor connected. If there's no display then, there's something wrong with the system board that's preventing the machine from starting up. Get that fixed, and it will probably fix the display trouble as well.

Nothing but multi colered lines verticly on the screen

Try this:
Turn it off.
Disconnect power cord and any other device attached to it.
Take battery out.
Without anything attached. Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Connect the power cord only.
Hold down F2 (while it's off)
Turn it on while holding down F2.
Let go of F2 when something comes out of the screen.
If multi colored lines still appears.
You have either defective LCD(screen) or video card.
